I should have also said, check out the SwordMasters collection. Those are the cheapest weapons they have (apart from the weapon kits). They’re made from a slightly softer foam, to be safe for children to use, but I’m certain they’d be suitable for general use too.
ARGH!!! Why’d you have to do this NOW when buying another sword is completely out of the question, their Celtic Longsword was the one I wanted for Ragnall >.<
Oh well, 5000 person LARPs you say…
There hasn’t been much response - perhaps people are pretty well kitted up with the gear they want at the moment? If there isn’t interest now then I’ll do the import next year some time.
For any who missed the message on the previous page:
Hey folks,
I’m having delays with my current supplier, so I’m going to make an order from a new one. If you’re looking for new gear for medieval or fantasy larps, here it comes.
I’m not going to list all the products available here, it’s way too long. If you thought the last supplier had a crazy range, wait until you see this. Weapons, shields, armour, arrows, prosthetics, weapon-making kits, leather goods, costume, etc.

Yes, it’s in German. But there are pictures! Forgotten Dreams is Germany’s big supplier, and Germany has the biggest larps in the world (two annual 5000-person larps), so they have quite a market. Their products have a high reputation, they’re in the big league with my last supplier.
First, here’s how to find your way around the site. There are four menu images up the top, to the right of the Forgotten Dreams logo. They are: Weapons/Shields, Armour, Masks/Makeup, and Costume/Leatherwork. Click one, and you’ll see category options. Luckily, many of the categories are named in English. Click one of the categories, and you’ll get a list of products that you can scroll up and down. Click a product for a closer look. And then click the image again to see it even closer and sometimes with different angles.
Listed against each product is the recommended retail price in Euro. I can’t put an NZ$ price on them just yet, but I can guarantee that it will be less than double the recommended Euro price (i.e. double is roughly the current exchange rate). I’m not sure how much less, it depends on shipping and importing costs still to be determined. But I can say that I intend to cut down on my margins, and that there will be an NZLARPS discount of some amount.
If you’re looking for cheap weapons and happy to do some crafting, check out the weapon kits. The blades come pre-constructed, so you can be sure of professional standards in safety and durability. You just add a hilt, grip, and pommel of your own design, and paint on coloured latex. They also supply pre-built hafts for aces and maces, which aren’t listed but I can supply prices for.
Let me know what you’re interested in over the next week, based on the rough idea of price I’ve given (somewhere south of double the Euro). I’ll get the NZ$ costs figured out, and then take definite orders.
Cheers,
Ryan
Hi Ryan,
I’m interested in the kids swords
SwordMasters Übungsschwert 60cm
SwordMasters Turnierschwert 85cm
Also the leather pouches look cool, and I since my time in making them gets used up elsewhere, could you get me price for these
Ledergürteltasche braun L
Ledertasche Elven, braun
Tranktasche 2er braun
If you’re getting them for the kids, i recommend getting them all the same length.
Otherwise the biggest kid gets the biggest sword and thrashes the little kids…
Thanks Hannah, I’ll look at the pricing for those items:
I’ll price up some other items that are likely to be popular at the same time.
I have to say, thats some good looking pouches. The one with the small vials is perfect for Wolfgang’s. no more fumbling about in your pack looking for holy water while the Vamps get ever closer, grinning, and foaming at the mouth. Do Vamps foam?
R
Oh hell yes, but most of us carry nothing but holy water in a given puch so it doesn’t matter what vial you grab
but otherwise yes, very spiffy looking stuff
Speak for yourself. bloody non-mages… mutter, grumble
Army surplus
Sure. I wonder if they can be taken down into parts.
Sorry about the delay in updating this.
I hit a few complications while pricing - our falling dollar against the Euro, items that they don’t seem to have in stock, uncertain shipping costs, and they’ve just repriced some things on account of rising material costs.
I’ll try to get definite prices sorted soon, but it’s likely they’re going to be higher on account of the conversion rate alone, and some items may not be available. Then I’ll find out whether delivery can be done by Xmas.
Hi Ryan, any news on this order stuff? Do you think it might be delivered before 24th January? (Knightshade game)
Thanks.
Sorry, I’m finding the supplier a bit unresponsive and am a bit busy myself this time of year. I’ll bear in mind the upcoming event dates and keep trying, but I’m not sure if I’ll get it sorted by then.
Ok, thank you!
Troll above.
EDIT: troll was deleted.
Speaking of swords in the mail, any updates as far as what you’re bringing in Ryan?
I’ve haven’t gotten on to it, due to a mix of factors - their slackness in answering emails, my slackness in following up, lack of expressions of interest, etc. Still planning to do it, just don’t have a timeline. At the moment all I have in stock is a couple of daggers.
What type of daggers?
