Paddywhack latex weapons

One is a “Squire”, and the other “Elf” with a green hilt. Here’s how I listed them previously:

Squire dagger - $81.00 ($56.70)

Elf dagger with green hilt - $117.00 ($81.90)

Actually, I’m happy to part with the elf dagger for $56.70 too, as I never intended to import it (I ordered it in bronze and they sent me green).

I’ll get back to you Ryan. I wouldn’t mind a pair of daggers, just have to see what finances I have available.

[quote=“Ryan Paddy”]There hasn’t been much response - perhaps people are pretty well kitted up with the gear they want at the moment? If there isn’t interest now then I’ll do the import next year some time.

For any who missed the message on the previous page:

[quote=“Ryan Paddy”]Hey folks,

I’m having delays with my current supplier, so I’m going to make an order from a new one. If you’re looking for new gear for medieval or fantasy larps, here it comes.

I’m not going to list all the products available here, it’s way too long. If you thought the last supplier had a crazy range, wait until you see this. Weapons, shields, armour, arrows, prosthetics, weapon-making kits, leather goods, costume, etc.

Yes, it’s in German. But there are pictures! Forgotten Dreams is Germany’s big supplier, and Germany has the biggest larps in the world (two annual 5000-person larps), so they have quite a market. Their products have a high reputation, they’re in the big league with my last supplier…
Cheers,

At the last Wolfgang’s day game Liz was kind enough to bring along her shortsword from the Medieval Collection, and I’m sad to say I’m not nearly as impressed as I thought I’d be. The weapons are ridiculously light and the weighting is super weird as a result, and in the short time I had to play with it I couldn’t get a “feel” for it at all. I very much doubt it would be any use for blocking, to the point it almost felt like it would break if I tried. The only thing they seem to have going for them is that they look pretty. In all honesty Ryan, the stock you were getting before was much better (even though the cheaper ones had sharper edges that could still sting quite a bit) - heck, I’d even take an Excalibur weapon over one of these

Thanks Dave, that’s good to know.

I’ve been having a poke around the net, and it looks like the manufacturer of your knights/squires/templars etc swords have some new “lines” out, are you still in touch with them?

And have you also looked at the Warlords line - http://warlordslarp.com/ - though unless I’m mistaken it’s the same line that wargod.co.nz provides…

Yes, they’ve gotten in touch with me again and I’m working through pricing with them. They’ve simplified their range, which will make ordering easier.

Warlords is new to me.

I had a look at a Forgotten Realms shortsword at Wolfgang’s, and thought it was good. Nice finish, similar weight to Ex-Caliber. But if the longswords are too light as you say I can see how that’d be an issue.

I’m aiming to order from the same people as I did last time at this stage, now that they’re back in production.

I just had a talk with Jared as he trialed one of their daggers - and it disintegrated after one nights use. Best left alone methinks

Heya I’ve just been to my first St. Wolfgang’s Game as crew and am maybe thinking of becoming a player at some point. I’ve seen alot of the photos you’ve posted quite some time ago. Is it still possible for you to get ahold of any of that stuff still?

Hey there, that’s exactly what we’re discussing.

Yes, it looks like I’ll be able to bring in another shipment of that gear. However, the weapon options are much simpler than they used to be. For example, this is what the range of swords now looks like:

Each of those swords come in 86cm and 104cm lengths. Apparently the Elven & Drow from the old line are also still available, and there is also a redesigned Squire - but it looks the same except that the pommel now looks like the Norse.

They don’t have any axes or other weapons on offer for now, just five daggers that look much like the old ones, the same four shortsword suitable for children as before, and most of the leather good previously offered.

When I get matters sorted with them I’ll ask who is interested in ordering on here with prices in $NZ.

Pity they don’t have the knight/templar options still, they were spiffy  Kinda dumb that you can still get them through various websites too >.<

In saying that, damn the woodland one looks fairly sexy!! Good Job dude :stuck_out_tongue:

Just to be nosey - is there a brand name for these at all?

Yes.

Wicked I’m really interested. I had a list the length of my arm span of stuff I wanted to get. I’ve cut it down a bit but I think I’ll only be able to get things in bits, poor student and all.

It’s ok. Welcome to LARPing. Before you know it you’ll be making stuff on the cheap you never thought possible. (and buying stuff when you can afford it)

2 years ago I didn’t even know what Ados was…

The most expensive stuff you ever buy is the stuff you never use…

If there is particular stuff you want to get, ask around here somewhere and people can usually give you good advice on where to get it cheaper. Ryan / Paddywhack is excellent value if you want a commercially made weapon (and lets face it, they look better than 99*% of the home built stuff).
