KapCon 19 - January 2010

Tickets are booked. Myself, Tigger, Muppet and Nikki will be in Wellington for KapCon! It’s the last of the cheapie tickets so get in quick, Aucklanders. We’re flying down at 8am on Friday and home at 8:30pm on Monday, giving us two days to explore the capital/socialise, and two days of gaming.

I’m going to be booking accommodation soon as well, the two self contained flats at Lodge in the City - a five bed room and a four bed room, with own bathroom and kitchenette. Cost is about $30 a night this way. Or we could see if we can book out a 12 bed bunkroom but we don’t get our own bathroom/kitchenette this way but it’ll be like a giant slumber party! (also $15 a night)

Wooohoooo!

Hurrah for the out of towners!

Oh, and I was checking out the KapCon website last night, they’ve started posting details about games, as well as the different factions for the larp. Am psyched

Hey guys, the questionnaire is up! has already filled it in

Is anyone planning on driving down to Kapcon? I need to shift a lot of things down and I’m not really happy about the idea of sending my desktop computer by freight, so if anyone has car space I’d really appreciate it. I will, of course, contribute to fuel costs. I’ll be at Kapcon as well, but I’m not taking a computer-friendly route.

So, there’s six of us booked in to go to KapCon this year from Auckland - a couple of others had put their hand up, namely Malu, Juliet, and Daniel. Are you guys still coming? Is anyone else wanting to come?

Trying to figure out what accommodation to book.

Daniel won’t be back in the country then. I find out in the next few days whether I’m working full-time, which impacts my decision.

I won’t be able to make this.

Hooray! Flights are booked. I’m officially coming down!

Would this be a really “too late” time to put my hand up and say that i’m now thinking about coming down for Kapcon? >.< No idea if i can even get flights at this late date.

They’ll still be avaliable, might not be too cheap but have a look. Try air NZ first, see the price and check out qantas, pacific blue and jetstar and see if they’re any cheaper. Air NZ was the cheapest when I last looked

It’s never too late for Kapcon, hell I am chasing people up to organise things and only just registered myself  (but yeah I know you are asking the other Aucklanders coming down).

If you end up coming I now know of 9 Aucklanders coming down for it.

You can totally still get flights! It’ll be awesome!

The more the merrier, book your flight then get your questionaire in for the LARP, you could have a character by this time tomorrow (we dish them out Wednesday mornings).

Plus I think we worked out between us there’s still a bed or two spare, so no hotel bills.

Bryn.

Whose idea was it to have this the same days as Taupo Joust???!!!

Acutally, KapCon has always been on Wellington Anniversary weekend. It’s the Joust that’s scheduled itself inconveniently.

Could someone who is going down to Kapcon possibly volunteer to take down a small bag of props for Scott’s run of Camelot down there?

The props fit in a shopping bag, so it’s not much extra luggage if you’re flying. There’s also a shield that could go down if you were driving and had free boot space.

Cheers,

Ryan

Hey Ryan - forgive my holiday brain for not replying to your message, I am happy to take the shopping bag of props down.

Yay yay Kapcon is next weekend yay yay!!!

wow it is…

I better get me a costume. I hope I get my Character sheet soon…
