Damn! Cowboy boots are expensive.
Right now I beleive we are looking at a quiz based casting system.

“Who was the 35th President?”
“John F Kennedy?”
“Correct!”
“I cast Lightning Bolt!”

LOL!
LOL @ Muppet
Sounds like a fun LARP. After the great time I had at KapCon, Will certainly be attempting to get time off for this.
Is your name Dave is pretty much the sum of the quiz.
Well, actually…
I wouldn’t admit to that. In fact, change your name…
if i recall correctly it was more “is your name dave luxton” is pretty much the sum of it
Well, actually…
… I think it should just be left as "Is your name Dave?"
I’m happy to share the love. I don’t need Hamish’s special attention all to my self, I’m okay with it being spread around a bit. After all, I can’t see how I can do this plot all on my own, really.
PS: How much does it cost to change your name by Deed Poll?
you and me could write a bad romance
I can just imagine the onlookers cracking up with laughter now, Zannii! xDDD
Here’s a thought.
Let’s say all guns are six-shooters, and they’re firing a ring of caps. Then characters could be given rings that have a number of caps already detonated. The worse the character is at shooting, the fewer live caps they get.
You spin the whatsit when you load it, so you don’t know where the live caps are. When you fire, if the cap denonates then you’ve hit. Possibly you can only fire about once per second, so you don’t just click your way through.
You don’t get to really aim, but you do have the uncertainty of whether the shot will work.
Hitting someone would presumably wound them and take them down, unless they were super tough.
that sounds all a bit complex/technical for a theatre-form style of game, but we will of course consider it.
Any guess as to when the questionnaire might be up?
(I’m notorious for missing when the questionnaire are posted …)
Not for a while yet - characters are in development.
I suspect the only simpler options are 1) every shot hits or 2) every shot hits, but you have limited ammo.
Ranged combat with rock-paper-scissors might seem simple on paper (because it might match the melee system), but in a crowded room with a number of shooters it’s not.
If you need to contact the Refuge GMs for any reason, email atowncalledrefuge at gmail etc
the questionaire will be up at the end of this month along with game selection.
