I have organised with an NZ importer of DENIX replica firearms a nice little deal for the society. The realy nice guys they are, If we make a single group order through them it will save them on shipping and handling and they have agree’d to either:
A) Give a discount to the order allowing the society to keep the difference to go back into LARPs.
B) Give the society some product for the gear library.

I’m too much of a snob to want a plastic gun, but I really don’t want to shell out for a decent replica, as this will likely be the only time I ever use it (I’m not really into guns).
I’m happy to make a holster for it that you can keep after the event.

Refuge co-GM/writer here - just to let you know that questionnaires have been received, characters have been assigned and blurbs are being sent out.

Have they all been sent out? Because I haven’t had mine through yet.
Not at this point. We’ll let you know when they’ve all been sent out, and if you still haven’t got yours then - let us know. We’re trying to get them out as fast as possibly, but there’s a lot to get through and someone has to be last!
The last time I ran Masquerade on Fleet Street, it took me five hours to email out 40 character blurbs. With Refuge having to respond to 80 questionnaires, the writers are looking at ten hours of emailing - not including food or bathroom breaks!
We’re also having to create and write more characters to cope with the influx. It’s a trade off between trying to give you as much information as possible, and trying to get it out as fast as possible - some of it doesn’t exist yet!
10 hours? EEK! I can wait most patiently, just thought I’d better check.
And thank you- now I have a heads-up on exactly how much e-mailing will be involved for Kapcon in January from myself and the other writers of Al Shir-Ma…

And plan for 8-10 people hours stuffing envelopes with character sheets and handouts in the week before the game. (You’ll tell yourself “Never again”. They always do.

Just a reminder, when thinking about costumes this is a 4th of July celebration, and you will be dressed up in your finest duds.

Just a quick note to let you know that we are a way through sending out character sheets. The rest will be sent out next week, as we are having to create more female roles (girls, tell all your male to friends to come along. The abundance of girls could be an incentive).
Just remember that we would like all the secrets to remain as such until the game so no discussing character details.

Well, we have had our second day of sending out character sheets, not everyone has gotten their character sheets though, this is either due to a certain member of the writing team being away this week or they are one of the new characters that we are currently writing.
Ooh, I had forgotten or missed that it was the 4th of July. Shindig!
I might could scare up some red, white, & blue bunting and whatnot from an honest-to-God Indepdendence Day if it would help with atmosphere.
