ZombieLARP: Thirty Minutes to Midnight coming this September

Zombies on my mind all week

NZLARPS has a generator (650w max) in the gear library.

Should I assume crew are costuming themselves?

Correct. Both crew and players are costuming themselves. You’ll also need to bring sturdy shoes and a torch.

Grrrr…Arrgh.

That was cool. Do more. Closer to town and with more everything. Thumbs up for a strong pilot.

Awesome props. Just really amazing. I loved all of it!

Thoroughly enjoyed myself. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that many new faces at a larp. Loved the set up, the innovation, the safety-conciousness (really important when you consider it was dark, zombies, lots of new people, and there was a river!)

Really fantastic event. Looking forward to the next one.

So is the premise that you’re a human for half an hour of it and a zombie for the rest?

That’s right  It enables us to run the LARP with a) Lots of zombies to fight in each round, and b) No dedicated crew required to play zombies. That way, everyone gets a turn at playing a human character.

It looked like a giant amount of fun. I shall definitely play next time as well as doing makeup.

Doing the makeup was great too though. “Arise my minions, arise! Muaaahahahahaha”

Apparently, playing the game felt a bit like this…

FPS view – perfect :open_mouth:

I had a silly idea about zombies, a video camera and a chainsaw.

And Craig made it come true <— check it out

He’s very good like that!

So what kind of achievements did y’all stagger home with?

Ummm … “Achievement: Member of the team who forgot to trigger the GMs trap”, and “Achievement: Killed with a chainsaw” ?

Seriously though … that was one awesome saturday night. Exiting the facility, we saw before us a bleak, rainswept expanse of mud and grass. Guttural moans and bobbing lights drifted eerily through the driving rain, and dimly could be seen shambling figures stumbling aimlessly through the dark …

Quote of the Evening: (Grunt, to the first Zombie they encountered) "Sir, are you alright?"
Backup quote of the evening: (Zombie, to Grunt) “Graaaargh!”

Congrats to the GMs, the Zombification crew, and those involved in the technological assets for the evening … the GlaDoS imitation was excellent, and very disturbing! And nice work with the “Neurotoxin Surprise ™” … that inspired quite a bit of panic …

Oh yeah … I almost forgot …

I think my vote for Best Weapon can be summed up with three words.

LARP.

Safe.

Lawnmower.

Have seen the pictures and gone damn, sux I couldn’t attend. So when is the next one?

I believe I loaned my umbrella to the GMs (large black & white) to use for sheltering camera equipment …

However in my haste to go home and have a hot shower, I appear to have left it behind. Could whoever has it perhaps contact me via PM? That would be muchly appreciated. Thanks.

I forgot to ask - how did people find using Nerf guns at ZombieLARP?

Just saw the video of the chainsaw in action.

AWESOME!!!

Beautiful work Derek. Great film Craig.
