Yay! We all survived!

Huzzah!

Thank you to Scott and Supporting Band for running the con, Naomi and Chris for running Fall of the Jaguar Gods, all the other GMs for running cool games, Michelle for yummy filling food (and being so cheerful all weekend), Lilian the Baby for being cute (and very laid back about all the strangers cooing over her), Norman for giving me a ride, everybody who came to my game, everybody with the beautiful costumes, and everybody for being so thoroughly nice all weekend.

See you next year?

EDIT: Known injuries: I think Norman may have fractured a bone in his foot (hopefully not), and I have a really… impressive bruise on my hip for a reason which shall not be mentioned.

Yes. Thanks all. I was only there for two games but they were both great fun.

Thanks Idiot and Anna for great games.

A massive thanks you to all the other players, you made it extra great.

Thank you everyone… Especially Scott, Naomi, Idiot et al for organising, Michelle for taking on the huge task of feeding everyone and the GMs of the games I played: Bryn and Jarratt (and Anthony, Scott, Nik and Naomi and all the other players) for a wonderful night at the Golden Dragon Tavern, Stephanie for The Bell (which I heartily recommend & would like to play again if she is ever rerunning it), Naomi and Chris for Fall of the Jaguar Gods.

Thank you to everyone I played with and socialised with and to my lovely roommates Nick! I feel very privileged to be part of such a talented and kind community!

Well, at least you weren’t bitten in a Most Indelicate location.

Oh god, so this is what it’s like to be on the player end of one of these larp convention things…bloody awesome.

This is the best kind of fun I’ve had in a while - got dolled up, played some games, and actually got to chill out with my friends

Big thanks to Scott, Michelle, Ellen and their support team. Sterling geek herding. Tasty food from Michelle  Thanks Naomi and Chris for a well written and thoroughly enjoyable flagship game. Thank you to all my GMs (Idiot, the 32AR team, Ellen, Daniel + Russ + Arbiters) for the games, and all my fellow players. Thank you to all my lovely Bayou players.

Thank you Jon for the lift to the venue, thank you Bryn to the lift back to the airport. Judit and Hannah for being awesome roommates. Vanya for being a fantastic assitant and making sure I had everything I needed when frantically painting a lot of people on Saturday for the flagship. And everyone else, just for all the fun

That was great!

Thanks everyone. Both the people who ran it and the people who ran around in awesome costumes playing entertaining characters and really made the larps fun to participate in! Also those brave (probably still sleeping) souls who did both. The amount of effort that went into Hydra really paid off.

Who sleeps

Thank you so much to everyone who organised and helped make Hydra happen, it was great!

Wow, what a great weekend! Wish I could have stayed for the last game, but real world things got in the way.
Thanks to everyone who organised it, and especially to Michelle for the wonderful food and letting me share her room at the last minute (with real beds!) Sorry for freaking you out in the middle of the night, and thanks for putting your blankets on me when you got up Sunday morning - I was mostly asleep but I did notice
Everyone I rp’d with was brilliant! A longer ‘best moments’ post will have to wait until I finish this 2000 word assignment due Thurs

Did I say finish? I meant start…

Confirmed. And I have an impressive bruise as well on my foot. But yeah 4th meta tarsal is fractured. What fun!

Oh no

Recovery time? Do they reckon 6-8 weeks like the interwebs says?

Ouch! This larping thing is rough. Hope it’s not too much of a hassle for you, Norm.

Dunno yet about recovery or whatever. Currently in Wellington hospital orthopedics waiting to be seen. Hopefully not too long.

One Norm’s oneself in Wellington.

Got it!

(Hope you heal up soon, Norman! What a good excuse to get another beautiful cane, eh?)

Actually another reason to LARP. Since because of costume stuff I actually HAVE a cane I can use.

I wondered what you might have done, I did see you running along when you stopped in front of the toilet block. I thought you were doing a mock jog to go around everyone heading to their game, then you stopped and looked quizical, (is that a word?)

Sucks to hear its that bad. Lets hope your about in 4 weeks for Teonn!!

LARPing - preparing you for injuring yourself!

Indeed. It was when I came down on my foot that I felt something pop. That quizzical look was my brain trying to figure out if I should be writhing on the ground in agony. It’s still a bit confused.

LARPing! The new scouts!

(That reminds me of the time when, in Wellington, I was alone and thought there was a burglar in the shed. I went out, armed with a larp sword and my bullwhip! Well it made me feel braver, anyway!!)
