What is the plan re the shed and the gear?

The trailer is full of gear, and I expect that there is more gear still in the shed.

What is the plan with respect to:

  • Ensuring the gear is removed from Nikki’s flat and stored safely, presumably with some kind of system that keeps track of who has what ?

  • De-constructing the shed and storing it somewhere while we decide what to do (or not) ?

It’s Wednesday, and we need to resolve this by Sunday…

We need to find out the exact date we need to have our stuff out of there. Kim and Matt move out this weekend, but I think Gaffy has another week in there. I will ask Nikki and post here with our deadlines.

I can take some stuff at my place in the short term. It’ll need to be:

  1. boxed ( because otherwise it will all get mixed up with the 10+ cubic meters of my own personal stuff )
  2. not often used ( because I’m out in Albany )

If there is stuff that fits this criteria ( boxed and infrequently used ) I can come and pick it up Thursday evening

I can take a station wagon load ( say 1.5 - 2 cubic meters )

If there is stuff that will fit in boxes, I’m happy to purchase some plastic bins if nzlarps is happy to refund me the $$$ reasonably quickly.

by looks of it , the golem needs somewhere to go
bulk of the stuff needing a home is construction material (foam, fibreglass rods etc)

I can take the golem and probably fix him up. I’d rather not have the raw materials because they will get mixed with my own  and used up…

The deadline is this Sunday, I did let Gaffy know. I need everything out by the 6/12 because I need to do a massive clean up of the backyard and deck on Monday and Tuesday, so I can start bringing people through as potential tenants.

I wish the timing could have worked out better, but I am bound by Kim and Matt moving out this weekend and work commitments.

Unfortunately Muppet and myself will be in Timaru until Sunday. :frowning:

We’ve found a place to store the gear.

It turns out Hamish has a largely empty garage he’s willing to let us fill with stuff. He’s cool for us come and move our stuff in on Sunday.

HUZZAH!!!

Thanks Hamish!!!

Unfortunately I am busy all weekend otherwise I would be keen to help

Awesome stuff, Hamish.

What time are you planning on moving stuff? Dave and I have a New Horizons ST meeting from lunchtime on Sunday but could help out in the morning if you start that early.

Can’t help Sat at all due to work, sorry.

I can be of use Saturday Morning and some parts of Sunday afternoon but there is absolutely no problem with you folks putting stuff in there in my absence. Sorry it took me so long to realise

I was thinking that if we get the stuff moved there this weekend and get it out of Nikki’s hair, we can all rock up next weekend and have an early gear day - we can wash all the clothes, sort the gear and settle it all in ready for the new year. We normally do this in January but given this turn of events and given the attention we need to pay the gear right now, we might as well get it all done in one fell swoop.

Would people be able to lend a hand?

Am I correct in assuming the shed is put together using pop rivets?

Yay, a home for our gear  Thanks Hamish !

I can help on Sunday 6th, can’t do Saturday this week or next week.

So, on Sunday 6th, I’ll take the trailer from Nikki’s to Hamish’s we it will be unloaded. Then I’ll go back to Nikki’s and get another load. I estimate two trailer loads, but if we need to do three then so be it. I can start late morning onwards - is there a preferred time ?

As we unload, we’ll keep an eye out for the gear required by Adam for Star Wars.

Do we still need a home for the dismantled shed ?

Yes, although I think there may be nails attaching it to the wooden base.

Next Saturday Unfortunately Co-Incides with the next Star Wars Game which runs from 1pm till 5.30pm.

I will be around to help with gear until about 12 where I shall have to head off and get ready for the game. What time are we starting?
