It is December 24, 1948. The socialite Evington-Browne family and guests are preparing for the annual Christmas Eve cocktail party, held by tradition at the family’s hunting lodge in the White Mountains north of Boston. Snow has been falling for days - a blizzard has now set in - and the party finds itself cut off from the rest of the world. This is unfortunate, as the valet of one of the guests has been found dead in the kitchen! It looks like a heart attack - but is it murder?
This is to announce that I will be running ‘The Night before Christmas’, a murder mystery LARP in the style of Agatha Christie from Freeform Games (the people who wrote ‘Dead Man’s Chest’), appropriately enough just before Christmas.
At the moment, I am looking for expressions of interest in playing, so I know whether the game is likely to need more than one simultaneous run (which I’m more than happy to do), and can prep accordingly. If you’re keen to play, please e-mail me at ellen dot boucher at gmail dot com, though feel free to post here at the same time. Registrations will open on November 17th, and I will send a reminder e-mail closer to the time to those who have let me know they want in, to let you know when you can sign up, and where and how to do so.
Date: 17th December; time: 7pm for 7.30 start; venue: Turnbull House; cost: TBC, but likely $15 for NZLARPS members, $20 for non-members.
