The Night Before Christmas

Thanks Ellen and Scott, I had a really good time. And Ruth for being a wonderful long lost daughter.

Great game, loved being evil. Knew I was going to die… The 3 stooges … I mean Doctors, or at least “those that could cure poison” were great at the end, all basically crowding around pretending to help and diagnosing the problem, when in fact it was those guys who poisoned me.

Classic line from Soames the house keeper, “I don’t want to help a blackmailer” & walks off…

I’ve just uploaded my photos from the night (the pairs of characters) to PicasaWeb. Minimal corrections on them.

You can find them here.

Seems like everyone had my back against you. I needn’t have worried. <3

Also, I loved how honest you were with your intentions. It was a great game.

Love the awkward family photos. :smiling_imp:

It was an awesome game  I had a lot of fun, even though everything went pretty crappily for my character.

But that’s the best thing!

Drama!

Ohhh…what happened?

Bryn and I had a quick chat before the game as to which way we had decided to go, I think it gave me the confidence to pull off the whole “tell it how it is” approach. SO when each person approached me, I was pretty up front. I figured that the family had spilled most of their secrets early, as a LOT Of people called me Mr Cad… It was good times.

I still think the best was when Evie came storming up to me and asked who exactly was I and what was I doing to her family. With a simple “No one, nothing for you to worry about, I’ll be leaving once the snow melts” - I think she came at me wanting to hear me say “Evie, I am your father!” but I really didn’t care if she was or not, but it was the most direct and loud approach I’d had all evening. And her reaction was like a little girl who’d been told to go away, its adult business.

I danced around the timing of her birth all evening. I have to say, I was more than a little relieved when I heard the blood test results though. It’s one thing forgiving your wife/mother for something that happened a long time ago. Would have been much harder for the family to remain united had Evie turned out to be yours.

The whole night was terrible! Everything was horrid, and her life was basically ruined :frowning: I even sat in a corner and had a cry in the middle of the game about how horrible everything was and how mean everyone was being.
Miles Earnshaw told her she was his daughter but no one ever told her she wasn’t (until the very end), Charles turned out to be a deadbeat, her siblings were shockingly mean to her all the time (not that Mummy and Daddy even cared!), she didn’t get the diamonds, the only other potential suitor in the room called her a petulant child and no one even took her seriously about her design company :frowning: :frowning: It was all very tragic.
The only person who was nice to her was Miles, and she’d basically decided to run off to New York when he got himself killed.

What’s even sadder is that once Miles had got her to New York he (I) was planning to basically ransom her back to her mother for all he could get…"

I love hearing about how two exact games can be so different. Our stream the family was all united, in yours it seems they were against her. Although the direct approach of “your my daughter” sounds awesome!! LOL

Woah. In our world I gave my daughter $30k for her fashion business. And she was promised the diamonds (even though they were missing at the time). And she got on with her siblings fine (minus the usual in-fighting that siblings do). If Miles had tried to tell you he was your father in our game, my plan was to flatly deny it.

Charles wasn’t a deadbeat. He just lacked the responsiblity he needed to get him on the right track. Though I may have told my daughter to… err… set her sights higher.

Grrr. :imp:

And Great Aunt Priscilla offered Evie money also…

It probably didn’t help the I was the most annoying, ditzy, spoiled person you will ever meet - it was great fun

You made an OOC comment about chewing gum before the game started, and I figured that, yeah, Great Aunt Priscilla would find her pretty annoying. That scene where Agatha frog-marched you over to make an apology was roleplaying gold, by the way.

Did you have a good Christmas?

Haha, that was the most awkward moment ever! Evie soooo didn’t want to apologise but in the end some of her better instincts won out. She really was a nice person!
I had a pretty quiet relaxing Xmas

I had wondered that at the beginning of the evening, but yes I got the feeling that Evie did get treated like a child by the whole family.

I had loads of fun, even if I was warned away from you many time, hence the storming up to you when everyone else was occupied.
