Hey folks,
The people who wrote The Flight of the Hindenburg for last year’s Kapcon have kindly agreed to pass me the materials so that we can run it at Chimera.
The Hindenburg was a historical airship, a German Zepplin filled with hydrogen that flew between Germany, the US, and South America taking high-class passengers on a luxury sky cruise that modern planes cannot match. It was nearly as long as the Empire State Building is tall, and had a huge dining room, a lounge, and even a pressurised smoking room. It tragically burst into flames in one of the 20th century’s most famous catastrophes. You can see the TV footage at the link below, accompanied by a the radio commentary that made the phrase “oh, the humanity” so well known:

The scenario takes place some years before the crash, on a fictional charity flight filled with a mixture of historical and fictional characters. Expect glamour, adventure, high politics, shady underworld dealings, and supernatural twists. Every character, no matter how pedestrian they might sound, is a lead role and tied into several plots. The game will run on the Saturday night of Chimera, and we’d love if everyone could play in it together, or (especially if you’ve played it before) help me with running it.
Once I’ve finished re-jigging the cast list a little, we’ll ask everyone who has registered for Chimera to give their preferences for characters and we’ll cast the game, leaving you plenty of time to costume. There will be a Best Costume prize for The Flight of the Hindenburg, voting by all the attendees.
Cheers,
Ryan
