Sunday morning, Sword and Shield Training

Sameeee

Would be keen to be a part of this, but can’t make today due to impending exams - am I able to come along from next week?

Yes, absolutely.

That was absolutely fantastic. So much fun!! Cant wait till next week.

100 Blow Challenge!

Was heaps of fun Derek, thanks for running it!

My fingers feel all raw haha. But I had lots of fun this morning. Looking forward to next week and winning the 100 blow challenge x)
That was absolutely fantastic. So much fun!! Cant wait till next week.
My thoughts exactly.

I’ve covered all the areas I wanted to as part of my lesson plan and Sunday training has just become a more general training session. It looks like they will continue for the foreseeable future at the same time and place.

Anyone who is interested in attending is very welcome to come along and I’m happy to repeat the first 2-3 lessons that I do with people on an informal case by case basis.

I think we’ve all had a lot of fun doing these lessons and I have been really happy to see some outstanding improvements from quite a few fighters.

Woooo!

This has been a fantastic way to spend my Sunday, it’s been lots of fun. I’m excited to hear we’re still doing it

If you really want to get better at larp combat, you should absolutely come!

Even though the timing of big life events has kept me away from this, I’m really grateful to you for putting this on, Derek. Thank you for such a great contribution to the local larp scene.

Seriously anyone even a little interested in larp combat should come along. A great time is had by all plus it is good exercise and a great way too meet fellow larpers when they are not pretending to be someone else.

Plus you get to hit people with swords.

We have not much on this weekend, so likely to bring the whole family.

Would you be interested to bring your bow and get the draw weight measured, maybe include it in the archery safety test after training?

Yep, refer PM.

Soooo, are we still doing this? I think I had heard some talk of it stopping after Chimera, but I wasn’t really clear on that point myself. Even if we are going to finish, do the regulars want to have one last training session, maybe this Sunday or the one following it?

I’m still keen

There will certainly still be people there, same-bat-time, same-bat-channel…

I’m going to take a short break and spend some time at home with the family.

Hi everyone,

This is still going. If you missed the Teonn training days, or you still want some more practice, or you just wanna hang out with some other LARPers for a couple of hours on a Sunday, then come along. It’s good fun (and can be fairly good exercise), and you’ll improve your combat skills. There’s only three more weekends until Teonn, so if you want to make sure you’re ready to fight off/be part of the ravaging crew hordes, get along to this  Roughly 10am-12pm Sundays, in Cornwall Park along the side of Pohutakawa Drive, in the Green Lane entrace to the park (see here).

Sweet! I finally have a weekend off in Auckland, and will be coming to this tomorrow for the first time (weather permitting).
See you there!

Ugh, and typically I have come down sick with a bug overnight.
Sorry I won’t be able to make it after all. Looks like I will have to wing it at Teonn.

But, so long as you’re fighting safely and having fun, then really it’s all good, regardless of whether you’ve been to training or not
