St. Wolfgang's Vampire Hunters!

I was wondering; are you going to limit the the hunters to christians or can you be a saracen as well.

and are you going to allow player groups

Not sure if it was mentioned somewhere ther, but - why St Wolfgang? Any kind of spesial saint?
While I’m looking at this name I suddenly see it in two parts, divided with a break right in the middle…

Tigger, I’m thinking of starting a costume for this. How is equipment going to be done? Will it be like Mordavia where you buy stuff?

Is there anything I need to be aware of?

Tigger, is there a year for the setting? The 13th century is a long time.

Information to follow in the next fortnight - we’re just settling some details for the setting.

St Wolfgang was decided upon, because it sounded kick ass. The initial inspiration for the game came from the name of a short movie called “Jesus Christ vampire Hunter” (or something like that) That seemed a little blasphemous, even for me. St. Wolfgang sounded interesting. Not too serious.

I’m thinking around 1230.
John had been fueding with the pope earlier in the century (some tension). Henry III was an young king.
The Franciscan order had been around for 10-15years or so. (He died 1226 i think…)
6th crusade set out…1228 and captured Jerusalem under Frederick the something - some good character plots there.
It seems to be a good ‘Medieval’ period, without the pesky Renaissance intruding.

More details to follow. (Gosh that’s helpful of me)
Generic equipment will be fairly available - ie. books etc. - no initial cost involved.
Weapons and armour will have some (but not great) restrictions. There will be some initial cost for these items - but they will be accessable. For example = It is plausable that your wandering friar will be in posession of a chain shirt. An ex-crusader will be equiped with a suit of chain, shield, helmet and sword, (though maybee not a mangonel).
My theory was that characters will have some life experience. They will have accumulated some gear. I don’t think this will over balance a game.
My general theory as far as characters goes is … ‘yes’ to most questions, so long as it is explained/jusified - this usually means PC’s have come up with interesting characters and want to bring interesing things. All the more fun.
I don’t know if this answers your question… We aim to have finalised the rules and setting in a couple of weeks…

Thoughts anyone…

I agree. We don’t want any of those lacy cuffs after all

And, YES that pretty much answers my equipment questions. Thanks!

Mine too i guess

woot, can;t wait.

I am taking voluteers for the holy orders of the templars, Hospitallers, and Tuetonic Knights, and the Order of Santiago.

I plan to form a cross-denominational fighting force to fight the legions of Hell.

DEUS VOLT

That’s…that’s kind of what the Order of Saint Wolfgang is…

A Little More Setting Information, to keep you all keen :stuck_out_tongue:

The Order of Saint Wolfgang
Pactum Serva

The Order of Saint Wolfgang is a secret arm of the Catholic Church. It’s agents are many and varied, spread over Christendom, and some beyond. You all have one thing in common. You know the evil is there - perhaps you’ve been a victim of an attack and survived, perhaps the Church has handpicked you to join the Order, perhaps you knew the right (wrong?) people. This will be further explained in the full setting write up but, know for now, that gladly or grudgingly, you’re part of God’s army against an insidious evil.

Whenever Christendom is threatened with a force of undead mightier than usual, the Church sends the summons: The Order must convene at the site of the disturbance.

It is here our games take place. The fiends of hell are massing, organising. You, as an agent of the Secret Order of Saint Wolfgang, have been summoned by the Church to meet with your fellows to deal with this threat.

You all have different skills. Some of you have been bestowed with powers for your faith, others wield mortal might, others may have more…unusual skills.

It’s time to show those blood suckers the might of the righteous!

(Tigger, kindly veto anything I’ve gotten wrong?)

Oh I am sorry I was not aware.

I retract this statement then, and alter it to

I am planning to form a group of Tuetonic Knights any volunteers.

for more information on the Teutonic Knights follow this link

hopefully this will fire your imagination

That sounds great

thank you i was worried you and tigger would veto the idea.

please note this is not an attempt to re create the Berium guard

when is this game going to get its own board?

Tigger and I are working on putting together the rulebook and the setting information. As soon as we have that, we’ll get our own board. This is forecasted for Queen’s Birthday weekend (two weeks)
