Proof of life - Airsoft LARP mix - 3rd May, Input required

Thanks for the feedback guys
I was worried that my guys would not get into the mood.
But they seemed to get into the swing of things nicely.
Having a bit on fun with something different.

Cameron, good to see a comparison of the costs of each hobby.
“Dating members of the clubs/Offering Favors of A Less than Seemly Nature)”
ROTFL

Aitrus, glasses and goggles do not mix.
Finding the right pair of goggle is the, most guys take up to 6 months to find the right one for them.

On the AS side it was our first run of that scenario and there were a few bugs to be ironed out.
The good guys were supposed to start a dialog and negotiate your release.
Unfortunately comms broke down and the rebels proceeded to go crazy.

Due to lack of time a few props were missing, so next time “but wait there’s more”

I could see a Stargate production easily done.

I was thinking that SG1 would be a little iffy. Unless there are airsoft staff weapons

But I deffinatly would be up for another skirmish

did i hear SG1??

Staff weapons, that can be arranged

We would not have to have the Goa’uld present.

Our normal games are run every 2 weeks.
The next one is on the 17th.
Night game planned. :bulb:

As an idea for a future larp/airsoft crossover, it might be cool to give the unarmed folk some goals - perhaps they’re computer experts who are needed to hack in and download vital files from the enemy computers, and they are being escorted by a military unit whose job it is to protect them, while the enemy is trying at all costs to stop them from getting to/getting away with the information. Imagine how hard (and awesome) it would be to try and find the right file on a computer while bullets whistle through the air around you! :open_mouth: It looks so easy in the movies

Sign me up.

Southdowns or some other “Urban” Area I think would be the best for that sort of mission…more realistic that a computer encampment would be set up there than in the bush, but in the bush in a tent with a generator would work…

Although i’d leave the specifics up to someone more techwise…We have a generator in the NZLARPs gear (or a UPS) dont we?..I’m sure we can get our hands on a few old 286s/386s as to not risk good computers (I think I have one lying around and they practicly throw these out)…a bunch of text files files 1.3 megs each arranged in a mess of different folders some containing proper info some decoys with garbage…and a bunch of old school 3 1/4 inch floppy discs…have to look through the files and retreive the useful “real” files.

Infultrate and Retreive mission. Complications like the computers not being set up fully or not having the generator running or files spread across multiple computers…

A more realilistic version of capture the flag (or if multiple locations/computers then “base capture”). A good Terrorist/CTU raid senario.

I think its a goer…Count me in

Yeah, we do. Or at least, we have something that’s loud that runs on petrol and makes electricity.

It would probably be worth making it so that the techies need to be captured alive to make it more difficult than a simple “snipe the computer guys” - the enemy could gain valuable information by capturing these guys, including but not limited to how to access the other guy’s computer system. (i.e. Guilder has sent a military team to aid a group of techies in downloading top secret vital information off of Florin’s computer system. Florin’s soldiers are trying to stop it and capture the techies alive if possible to get information out of them on how to access Guilder’s computers)

Of course, you could always kill off one or two of the techies to scare the rest into talking…

It’s a 650w 2-stroke. At 58dB it’s not overly loud, but in an enclosed area like Southdown I would recommend putting it outside and running an extension lead.

Here’s my suggestion for an airsoft larp at Southdown:

Zombies !!!

I’ve read about a night zombie game where the zombies wear a metal plate on their chest and lots of clothing. They don’t go down to bullets unless they are hit on the chestplate, and then only for 30 seconds.

Anyone caught by a zombie is bitten and has to report to the crew area to get kitted out to become a zombie. So the whole thing is very fraught for the party. You could also have melee weapons for those without rifles.

Scenarios could include:

  • Time Survival - the team must survive until a certain time when the rescuers will arrive.
  • Get To the Armoury - starting with melee weapons only, they need to fight their way to the armoury and back again.
  • Escape - got to get to the exit, through all those zombies !
  • Rage ! - these zombies are like those in 28 Days Later. Each has 4 HP (no chestplates) and if one touches you on the torso then you have 15 seconds to carefully put your weapon out of the way before you start growling and turn on your teammates.

Oh anna… shakes head Guilder and Florin? You couldn’t have just said Terrorists and CTU? or Baddies and Goodies?

“My name is Inigo Montoya you shot my father in a counter insurgent action…”

They realy dont need encourangment from what I saw them to do the Cameraman and Craig

Now who wants to be General Humperdinck and his nasty Chief of “Security”, Colonel Tyrone Rugen?

lovin the zombie idea, but… ooooooh it would hurt to crew that one. imagine the hail of bullets… over and over! :open_mouth:

Zombies !!![/quote]

Mmmm, I’ve always wanted to play in a splatter-fest style zombie larp.

We’d need larp machetes and bags of fake blood as well. Every player should start with 200ml of blood in a bottle for when they get shot, bit and cut up.

Of course, it needs to start with the mad scientist in the lab or something like that.

And everyone needs to start in civvies, not camo. Bonus points if you come as a cheerleader, with poms

Hmmm zombie kill sounds like fun… probably more fun than the zombies expansion on counterstrike source…
So how many times is a zombie going to be shot before they’re sick of it though? The metal plate idea is good though.
Let me know if this goes ahead… i’d be keen… just need axe & shotgun…

larpsafe chainsaw anyone? :smiling_imp:
