Ok, first off, that guy is adorable: “I MADE A THING!!!”
Secondly, these glasses will be a godsend for me! No more missing out on group movies
I’ve ordered my pair. Thanks so much, Cameron!!

I’ve been thinking of ordering a pair too…as the 3d effect is lost on me partialy too, due to eye focusing thingies.
Hank is indeed made of win…He and his brother John communicate across the country using youtube and are big geeks, and organise charities and are pretty much professional geeks now.

I work down by the warehouse in a store that does not have it’s own security. Watching 3 people a day get carted away by police while the security mill about infront of your store is reason enough to talk to them on a slow day

Hi everyone,
I spoke to Hoyts at Sylvia Park, and the only way they’re prepared to do a group booking is if someone pays upfront for all the tickets. Since that’s a crazy amount of money for me (or anyone) to front up, and then try and get back from people, here’s your options for getting tickets.
Option 1: Buy Your Own Ticket
We are going to the 9pm 3D session at Hoyts Sylvia Park, so if you want to be in control of your ticket, you can go online and book your own tickets for that session.
Option 2: Give Me Money To Buy Your Ticket
For those who want to make sure you sit with a group (and trust me with your cash) you can give me money for the group booking I’m doing on Wednesday night. I must have your money cleared into my account by Wednesday night in order for me to book a ticket for you, or have received cash in hand from you by Wednesday. If there’s enough demand, I can turn up at America on Tuesday night to collect cash from people. The cost is $19 for a ticket or $20 with 3D glasses.
My bank details are:
Name: Miss Anna Klein
Bank: National Bank
Account: 06-0225-0262335-01
Make sure to include your name and POTC4 on the payment details.
Regardless of how you get your ticket,we’re all still meeting at the cinema at seven thirty on Friday in costume and commence with our swashbuckling from there.
Any questions, send me a message or an email
Anna
Looking forward to this … and I’ve even convinced my sister to come along, so that should be amusing.
If we have a larp-safe weapon to go with our piratical costume, is that likely to be ok? Or is that likely to end up with the AOS rappelling down on us …?
We got away with it in Wellington, but we also didn’t run down the street waving them around. They were obviously part of the costumes.
Also … do we have chimera (or nzlarps) business cards to hand out to bemused onlookers?
Did you guys get some pics?
Yeah we did, spread across several cameras though, so we need to sort them out.

I think Adam mentioned he knows security at the mall so I think we’re sorted there?
Just to be safe, I’d save the mock battles until after you’ve seen the movie 8)
Speaking of which, have just seen it at the VMAX theatre at St Lukes (couldn’t make tonight’s event). You know, as a romcom-scifi-thriller, it really didn’t work. It was much better as a pirate movie
Ummm … Spoiler Alert?
Packed!
Though the bar tender at the pub we met at did pointedly tell us we were lucky we arrived before the bouncers started working.

Wow, we could have done with some of those too. Though Norm handled it nicely.
It was a great night all round. When I arrived at the pub there was a guy at the table who had come over to join us because he thought we were AWESOME.
My favourite of the photos on my camera is this one:
