Online RP Thread (Lead up to Bloody Valentine)

Daniel stood up and backed away from Dray. The patients words were hardly inspiring him with confidence, perhaps releasing one of the straps wasn’t such a good idea.

“Let’s take a moment here chaps to work out what’s going on, Doctor Swanhilde makes some good points though, and if I’m being entirely honest with you I don’t like the sound of right away much either.”

Glancing over to his bright haired colleague, noticing the way she was cradling her scarred arm and her gritted teeth. “Hmmm, let me take another look at that.”

Dahlia moved her arm closer slowly to her somewhat concerned colleague. “I… I don’t know what happened. It just feels quite…strange”. She couldn’t fully describe how it felt.
“If you can’t give us a definite answer sir, then perhaps you should offer to put yourself under lock and key. Or are you happy with the consequences should you lose control? I mean what if the consequences of your actions is harm to Baby North?!”

“Have you thought about that sir?” he says pointedly
Dray stood up seeing he was causing pain to dahlia “look i’m moving away Ok. I’ll find out what is happening to me with out endangering anyone in this camp!” he shouted Dray pick’s up his hat and then hides his eye under his eye patch.“I’m planning on leaving the camp to help out Valencia” stops for a moment a few feet away from everyone seeing the fear of uncertainty in everyone’s eyes. “i’ll fine out whats happening to me” he said calmly Dray tuned and headed for the door to head out side for some air.

Ivy walks in with #74 as Dray starts shouting. Stepping towards the door she crosses her arms and calmly looks at the man. “Is everything ok here?”

As Dray responds Magnus just looks stoney faced and when he leaves he nods and mutters

“I think that is best for everyone.”

When Ivy bars his way, Magnus quirks an eyebrow and looks back to his daughter.

“Papa” Dahlia whispered, " I didn’t mean to cause such a scene". Her face fell to a frown “It’s not worth having someone feel they can’t be here because of a little problem concerning me”

“You aren’t responsible for that arm and eye my dear, so don’t concern yourself” he says quietly with a smile

“You’re faultless in this and didn’t choose that affliction dottir. He seems unstable, it’s just best he goes until he finds his resolve”

"Ms Bogdanov, our fellow here,“Daniel indicates Dray”, “is suffering from a case of spontaneous infernal infection.”

He waited a second before clarifying. “His eye is demonic, he’s unsure if he has complete control over it, a dangerous situation to be in sadly.”

“I’m certain I can remove it and the surrounding tissue without complications, but it may be possible that our demonologists can do something to exorcise whatever is causing it.”

“Ahh. This isn’t good. Dray? What is it that you want?” Ivy hasn’t moved, but she relaxes slightly.

#74 looks somewhat abashed, but she clears her throat, nervously.

“Perhaps before that happens, maybe I can try doing a…well. It’s an exorcism, of sorts. It doesn’t seem to stop the demon energy, just neutralises it for a while.”

She sees their blank faces.

“It works on swords. I’ve done it on Jack’s one a couple of times and Mitislav’s…once. I don’t see how it can hurt.”

Dray has been able to calm him self to think properly now he looks around the room thinking of his options on the one hand removing the eye could cause the infection to spread somewhere else as at this point it seemed to be fine. #74 did raise a good point with what she had done with the swords but he was also aware of the pain that she must have felt from each one.
Dray took a deep breath “look i get that my eye is causing an issue here and as hard for me to admit it frightens me a bit as well i don’t know what will come from removing it or miss #74 here rising her safety to do another exorcism anything could happen to me or her she said it her self she has only done it on swords” Dray looks down at his arm and his family crest “when Drew and sir Scott came for me the other day they spoke of cultist involvement. When me and Valencia leave tomorrow to look for gadget i’m sure i can find someone who knows a bit about this sort of thing. i don’t want to burden this camp anymore then i already have” Dray turns to ivy who is still blocking his path and waits for her to make her next move

Lewy struggles to his feet, and looks at Zek. “You want to come? I’d feel safer with three.”
Zek thinks for a moment, then finally nods, although he’s distracted to a significant degree by whatever is going on in the taverna. He had felt an odd temptation to visit the standing stones before, but he didn’t put much stock in the legends that surrounded them. He believed in them, without holding them central to his beliefs. Still, he’d felt the temptation the strongest on his way to the ruined church, maybe it was a proximity thing, maybe a vague sense of foreboding.

Whatever it was, he clambered to his feet and tucked the Ouija board under his arm.

Ivy nods, listening to what the others have to say. “Well Dray, as I see it, you stood by Hanover when we needed you. Risked your life and because of that you have had some sort of demonic infection. Now I’m not going to force you to do anything you don’t want. But if you want help, there are plenty here who can. #74 knows the risks, and if she’s willing to help then you just need to say the word.”

Ivy steps out of his path, and opens the door.

“But like I said, I have no interest in forcing a man who risked his life for my home to do anything.”

Jane shoots a faintly guilty glance towards the doorway leading to the medical bay. It should be fine, #74 was very competent, and too many doctors int he med bay tended to lead to confusion about who was treating whom. Besides it sounded like a demonology or surgery problem, neither of which Jane could do… it wouldn’t be practical for her to go in there, it certainly had nothing to do with not wanting to face Dr Daniel again so soon.

She stands up as well.

“thank you” dray said calmly and walked knowing if he hung around any longer it would cause a problem. Walking out side dray sat down at the deck looking out into the forest" ill research this when i’m in theebs someone will know or have heard of this i’m sure" dray said to him self

Outside the Taverna, Esther has finished feeding Harriet and is now laying in the grass, cradling the infant against her and sleepily murmurring to her -words of endearment, vocalisations of thoughts as they drift in and out of her head, opinions about the other residents of the camp- Not really thinking about what comes out, just keeping up a constrant stream of her voice since it seems to soothe Harriet.

She’s murmurring; “…But that’s between me and Sameera, poppet, and now you, and I trust you not to tell anyone… Oh, look at that cloud up there, Harriet, doesn’t it look like an ostritch?” when she hears the door to the bulding open.

She turns her head when Dray emerges from the building, nodding in greeting.

Upon Dray leaving the room, the weird feeling in her arm went away slowly. It didn’t stop hurting, that was normal for it, especially now as the huge amounts of morphine was leaving her system slowly. It just feels weird and more painful in the presence of anything demonic. Dahlia never wanted to make this known, but after this, it is a little obvious to everyone in the room exactly what is wrong with her arm.

Dray looks over to Esther and nods a hello. At this point Dray doesn’t want to risk something else going wrong he keeps his distance “I see you two are doing well”

Esther kisses the top of Harriet’s head. “She’s perfect. What was going on in there?”

Unnoticed by Esther or Dray, Dorchester quietly continues to smoke his pipe, but keeps a close eye on the two as they chat.
