Online RP Thread (Lead up to Bloody Valentine)

Lewy nods in agreement. “There’s always something going on, especially during the day. That’s why I started doing most of my research at night. It’s peaceful enough, though sometimes I still have to share the lab.”

He looks thoughtful for a moment. “Have you considered taking a walk to the standing stones, and just hiding from it all? Just for an hour or so every now and then. They’re on an island, so it’s safe enough from demons. I could show you where they are, if you’d like.”

“That sounds nice. Are those the ones Merlin was meant to have moved here?”

"Right I’m going to take a proper look at this, it shouldn’t hurt but try not to blink." Pressing Dray’s head against the stretcher with the base of his right arm, Daniel gently eased the top and bottom eye lids open with his thumb and fore finger allowing him a proper look.[/quote]

Dray finally getting calm and having his eye looked at takes this moment to think about what has just happened its strange how it all started from that big battle with the demon prince. he gets a strange tingling in his eye like it was calming down or something
"um my eye feels odd now not painful but I’m not sure how to explain it."
to the view to everyone else the skin around Drays eye started to darken and his eye started to fade into what could be described a red cats eye

“Merlin?” Lewy furrows his brow. "Not that I’d heard. Though, frankly, it wouldn’t surprise me. The local folktale is that it was Fionn mac Cumhaill – you’d know him better as Finn McCool, but I can’t really say.

“The local druids,” he continues, a note of disappointment in his voice, “are just neo-druidics trying to recapture their lost cultural heritage. They don’t really know the old stories. A pity, really - I was hoping they might know something that could help.”

Lewy struggles to his feet, and looks at Zek. “You want to come? I’d feel safer with three.”

“Oh” said Jane “It was actually in a book that Zek gave me to read…” suddenly Jane had a revelation “which i just realised was actually a research paper.” She shook her head slightly and breathed “That makes way more sense.” She shook her head again “anyway it mentioned that some standing stones had been moved from one location to one of the islands. According to legend, by Merlin. I really enjoyed that book.”

Holding the scope up to the reddened skin around Drays eye, Daniel began carefully examining the inflamed flesh around the eye socket. Engrossed in the fine details he completely over looked that the iris and pupil had entirely changed shape and colour.

Flinching back unconsciously as the device passed over the eye proper Daniel gasped. “Oh.” He regained his composure, “Right. Well. Tell me exactly how it feels, it seems to have settled down. It’s red. Fascinating.”

He clasped the man reassuringly on the shoulder. "We’ll get to the bottom of this chap, try not to worry too much.

“Any idea what might have caused it?”

Dahlia managed to see Dray’s now changed eye. "Hvad fanden…" she muttered to herself. Dray’s skin around his eye almost matched that of Jack’s arm. How on earth did this happen? she wondered.

"im not sure it happened after my battle with the demon prince but he never physically touched me…"
Dray stops mid sentence as if he has just had a revelation. goes to speak then stops as it may come out wrong and cause him to get in trouble even more.

It was obvious to the doctor that there was more to it, the man knew something else, but perhaps was afraid to say.

“Come on, what is it, we can’t help if we don’t know what happened.” Daniel gave him a reassuring nod, things had for the moment calmed down.

dray knew he was stuck and had to tell someone
"well um how can i put this" he stopped and tried to remember how his father had worded it to him
"my crest and family gauntlet have been given to the head of my family for as long as i can remember. the crest was all ways the holy relic that only a howlet was meant to have and it was to be the other end of the scale to the glove that is well powered by demonic energy but as far as i know its never come into contact with a demon prince" dray stops to let what he had said sink in. also in hope that no-one would try to take both the gauntlet or the crest from him as they were the last thing of his fathers or anything tied to his family heritage.

Daniel nodded, “So you’re saying that your gauntlet is some how empowered by infernal forces.” It wasn’t the first thing the doctor had come into contact with since arriving at Skye that was.

“And this pendant”, indicating the family crest he wore around his neck, “is blessed with the power of faith?”

“Okay, I’ve seen and heard of much stranger things,” Doctor Ashdown still transfixed by Dray’s possessed eye, “So what happened with this Demon Prince?”

Dray start to think back to the battle “well i know i punched him… and knocked him down a few times but never… got … hit… by him…” Drays voice dropped as it went in thought to a silent mumbler dray tried to recall the battle but was odd to be talking to someone that close to i mean he was right in his face… “holly shit!!” he could make out a shadow of sorts of the doctor in front of him. it seemed that his eye was finishing its metamorphism and was returning his eye sight to normal on its own.

“Well it seems to be working again,” Daniel replied, “Hang on a second.”

Releasing the leather strap from around Dray’s chest, “Cover your other eye and focus on my finger.”

The doctor passed his finger from left to right in front of the mans face. “Hmmm, seems to be working okay.”

He looked over at Nurse Blake, who seemed some what flustered about something, then to Doctor Swanhilde “Thoughts Ladies?”

“Remarkable…” Dahlia thought out loud, wishing she could inspect closer.

“You don’t seem to be experiencing any immense pain either. Do you feel any sharp or burning pains whatsoever?” she asks, moving her left arm uncomfortably a little.

Dray took a moment “no um it is a little blured tho it like looking thought a bit of glass i guess” during this he is closing his normal eye for a moment then opening it again

“do you think a demonologist would know anything about this?” feeling a little more open to talk about it

Fascinating, Daniel thought to himself, a spontaneous metamorphosis brought on by a non traumatic demonic infection.

“Yes chap, I think getting some input from demonologists would be very wise.” The doctor continued to inspect the eye.

“Usually in cases like this, something physically causes the wound to become infected and bring about change. It’s rare, but not unheard of, for infernal corruption to occur without a physical wound.”

"I have a number of books on the subject, Ms 74 was going to retrieve them, we’ll enlist some help from those in the know and see what we can come up with.

Pausing for a moment, “Like I said try not to worry, I’m certain that as things currently stands a relatively simple surgical operation could remove the infected tissue.”

From his chair Magnus sat somewhat dumbfounded\

“I hate to be alarmist, but is this man safe to be around? Powered by infernal forces and mutated due to corruption? Perhaps isolation until you get to the bottom of this doctor. I’m not sure how I feel with this fine gentlemen around the camp given his, err… condition.”

He looked at this Dray fellow up and down. He certainly was a sturdy sort and that mechanical arm looked very dangerous indeed.

“Sir. Do you feel you would be a danger to the camp in your current condition?”

“Father, he doesn’t seem to be of any danger in the meantime. But I do agree that it won’t be best for him to be kept here…” she trails off. Her arm was now flaring with pain, enough to make her gasp loudly. “Åh gud!” she says through clenched teeth. She usually refrained from using one of her languages (besides English), but now she can’t help it. “Hvad fanden sker der?” she gasped.

The pain died down a little, but sharp stings were constant with no signs of going.

Dray thinks for a moment" i don’t feel like i would be a danger straight away to anyone" Dray knew he had been in pretty good control when everyone was attacking each other he was able to aim at just one enemy.that had to mean some sort of control right dray thought to himself

As his daughter flares in pain Magnus takes his eyes of the Dray for a moment and moves to her side

“Það er allt í lagi dóttir. Bara að anda í gegnum það og það mun líða. Faðir þinn er hér” he says as he comforts her.

“Swanhildes eru sterk” he says with a smile before turning back to Dray, his demeanour ever more stern."

“No danger to anyone one right away?” he says somewhat incredulously.

“I don’t think that is quite good enough sir. Are we to just wait until that thing…” He says pointing to the arm. “…gets inside your head and turns you loose on this camp? My daughter included?”

“And the best you can say is you don’t think so?”

Magnus shakes his head and mutters something under his breath

“If you can’t give us a definite answer sir, then perhaps you should offer to put yourself under lock and key. Or are you happy with the consequences should you lose control? I mean what if the consequences of your actions is harm to Baby North?!”

“Have you thought about that sir?” he says pointedly
