I heard from Cara Darvill this morning. The 20/20 article on larping will be airing next Thursday (8th October) at 9:30pm.
Spread the word! Is anyone able to work techno magic and record it digitally?

They specifically asked me to inform Rowena and Dave, Muppet, Stephanie, Hamish and Jared, so I suspect that means they will be the ones in it.
We can just hope it comes across positively and provides some benefit to LARP in general…
I mean what we would do if we had 100 new larpers sign up because of it?

By the way, 20/20 can be viewed on tvnzondemand.co.nz a day or so after it screens so dont fret if you miss the first broadcast
Would be nice to get a recording of the high definition broadcast too.
I’ve got a contact in TVNZ whom I can ask for help with that, if not Cara and Hugh themselves.
pretty sure if your in it they will give you a copy so long as you promise not to put i online or screen it.

I don’t watch TV, you’ll have to explain…
“The Cult” is the best NZ made tv show since terry and the gun runners (for you young people that never saw terry look it up)…its a thriller about a cult (not the robe wearing but like real life cult) set up in the NZ bush and a group of people trying to get their relitives out. But are they realy all what they seem? Who is this extra mysterious man thats shown up recently? Where has that creapy guy we saw in the cult compound gone? Why do the 2 guys that are supposedly english have slight kiwi accents? Its pretty good. Production quality is fantastic. Check it out.
I wouldn’t go that far (sorry, I’m an “Insider’s Guide” fan - though partly that’s because its so Wellington). But its been sufficiently interesting for me to watch past the first episode. Which is more than can be said for a lot of crap on at the moment.
To jump thread for a moment: are you prepared for this to bring in new people?
What’s the next game in Auckland? If people watch this, go “that’s cool”, what’s the next event they could go to?
The good news is that they’ll find us. NZLARPS or Diatribe (or sites pointing to them) come up tops on google ofr larp nz, live action roleplaying nz (and its obvious spelling variants), and chimera convention nz. Not so good for chimera itself, but still in the top 3, and pretty obvious compared to e.g. the software companies.
So, what do they get pointed at?
