May day

WORK OF FICTION
Auckland: 2006
15 April

This night has two possible outcomes.

The first is that we create the most significant coup in history. We will own New Zealand and demonstrate the ferocity of Marxist revolution.

The second is too horrible an end to consider.

Comrades, the time is high. We are to meet at 5pm and action the final steps. There will be no more than ten revolutionaries and three distributed support personnel.

Be among the living on this night.
All characters are poor students and noone has a car. There will be no guns or other offensive looking weapons, but there are no other restrictions on the kit that you bring along. Players are advised to have a few bucks on their phones.

Invite your friends with this page.

That looks cool.

attendance confirmed.

Rad. A bit more on the characters and plot.

Characters should be students, but they don’t have to be young. They are radical thinkers, mostly Marxist, and believe in totalitarian government. As with movies etc we will take poetic license - realism is appreciated but not the be/end all.

You should have some knowledge in your chosen area of study, which can be pretty much anything. OR fake it really well, eg. you can be a nuclear physicist in their first doctorate year or training in PR at Unitec, or a third year politics major bachelors student etc, but you should be able to pull off what you choose.

This is one of those games where the character sheets mean more to the players than the game writers. The organisers will interact with the group as a team by manipulating the environment and sending characters based on the group’s actions as a whole.

We’d like up to three NPCs who will be playing (amongst other roles) phone-support operatives for the revolutionaries.

The game will start at my flat at 5pm after a safety/gameplay briefing.

It’s on the link bus route.

Dress like broke students about to overthrow the government would dress.

I’m so in. Preliminarily as player, but if you need a NPC I won’t mind.

Viva la revolution!

I’m in.

I’m in.

OOoooh, so that’s what you were talking about. Sure, looks cool. I’m interested, can’t say more yet (stupid parents garr.) :imp:

Can’t make it as I will be in the Himalayas attending the real thing.

Can’t make it though it looks cool.

Easter Reinactment camp is on(from memory)

Do you know the specific dates of Easter? I don’t want to run this in a “I’m going away” weekend…

AHA: I have actually put this in the first weekend of mid-semester break, and the day before Easter Sunday. Date may change. Watch space.

I’d be down for 'dat.

I shall attend also…

Neither myself nor Peter Cummuskey will be able to attend this event, as we’ll both be in Havelock North. Apologies.

age restrictions?

It stars university students. I suppose you could pass for a first-year. And an anarchist.

I’m in for NPC

Ooh, cool. Right, we’re almost full so get the word out to your terrorism-inclined mates before it’s too late. I’ll be emailing those who have stuck their hands up in the next few days…

When do we need to make charter sheets and such? also, is there some kind of template we should be using? or specific things that should be on there?

if its for the battlecry larp characters are assigned to people.
