I’ll be emailing out details for character creation soon. It’s mostly driven by you, but I might ask a few people to do something specific. There’s not really any costume to make or an awful lot of research to do, so don’t panic.
You can see the basis at nzlarps.org/mayday/char.htm - but only one person’s emailed me with a character based on this form, so I’ll give you a helping hand. Watch this space.

Dear friends
Days are passing.
With each, we see the wealth trickling to the top.
We see the owners of that wealth become increasingly more corrupt.
We see villages worldwide turned into “new markets” and their resources and labour usurped into capitalism.
We see them given consumerism, animal abuse and greed in exchange.
Basic needs - organic food, clean water, dependable products - are all being sold back to us as premium goods. Our transport, entertainment and even education systems are configured to keep us unhappy and spending. There is economic interest in every step of our wretched lives and that interest depends on our unhappiness to be profitable.
And within this ridiculous system, most of us question nothing.
Not tonight.
In New Zealand, they won’t know what hit them. It’s a strategic target at the start of the domino chain. Auckland will be the example.
When we’re finished, watch the world change.
Riots in Mumbai.
Junta in Shanghai.
Revolution in New York.

Holy shit, that was awesome! I had such a great time, I didn’t stop talking from 5pm until 11:30pm after the “domino” was disabled by General Smith, and Muhammad had stabbed Charles. And I didn’t stop talking then either!
And it seemed from what I saw of the game being played that a lot of people were in that situation. The thing that was of most value was certainly time.
I wanna say, compared to the entertainment level etc, the game was a real sinch to run. It was the product of a few hours to think up and a few hours to write down. I bought a handful of props, set a whole lot of deadlins, and bob’s your uncle - a game! I spent more time playing the game than writing it. Serious.
I’m making the game documentation available for all nzLARPS members that request it, and I’m willing to help people run similar projects.
If you want some money back for game costs, eg. you made a lot of cellphone calls, let me know a value and an account number (via PM) and I can return some money to you, to a maximum of your game fee. Calls seemed pretty well distributed but there’s probably about $35 that can go out to people from that stuff if you want.

This was a great game…When we sat down at the start and found out everyones political affiliations we all thought “How the heck is this group gonna work?” But they worked fairly well together.
The game was fast paced and although craig didn’t plan for it the group spliting up into cells worked realy well as we only had a slight notion of what was happening with the other group.
All up a great game.
