Great Lake Medieval Festival 09

If my tents wern’t spoken for I would have leant you one of mine.

We all will be travelling down via a few days at the beach in Coromandel, so can’t help out on the transport front, but will have 4 boogie boards in the car if you can think of how to make them look in period and use them in the maze.
This being my first time, I am just wondering about logistics a bit. Reading the Joust web site it says that the registered people (that’s us in the garb) get catered for. Do each of us need to register, or has Anna done that for the Larpers as a group. And has that included Brent and the 2 kids? Basically, I want to know whether to bring food for meals or just for snacks. (And is the food meant to be in period?) Do we need to purchase banquet tickets or has that been include also?
Looking forward to it.

Hey Hannah, I’ve registered for us as a group, I’ve put down approximately 20 larpers, so your husband and kids are included in that. We are being fed breakfasts and dinners, the only thing we need provide for ourselves are lunches. We are also included in the participants banquet.

On a related note to the masses, I’ve got a person coming down as part of the nzLARPS crew who needs a ride. He’s in Titirangi but can be in town. Can anyone please take him? We need all hands on deck for Team nzLARPS.

I’ve been in touch with the organisers, we’re going to have a blast running the Perilous Maze, and we also get to do the Kid’s Crusade. Lots of good fun, and we raise funds for nzLARPS.

Also, we need more people for Team nzLARPS. Currently we have about 16 confirmed people, and if we could anyone else, it would be awesome.

Also i still dont have a lift…I only need space for myself now as my better half wont be coming.

Alas, I do not have a lift down. Does anyone have a free seat?

Currently, people still in need of a ride down are:
Cameron Burns
Tim C
Adam Parsons (from Tauranga)

We also need a tent for Adam.

Please let’s work together to make sure we can get everyone down to the joust.

I have found a lift with Gene.

I can take Cameron and Tim in my car, as long as they are willing to leave early on Friday (10am) and contribute some petrol money.

Tent for Adam is sorted- Porl is lending him one.

yea i just need a lift

Could Cameron and Tim please PM me to arrange pick up time and place on Friday. It would be handy if you could get to my place, 7/21 Aliford Avenue on Friday morning so that your gear could be packed in the trailer that is going down.

Also I am coming back on Monday most likely.

Thanks

Nikki

Gone to Taupo. If anyone needs me, you can reach me on (removed)

See you all down there, or on Monday!

To everyone that came: Nikki, Muppet, Kim, Matt, Tim, Gareth S, Gareth H, Hannah, Brent, Josie, Charles, Gene, Cameron, Judit, Manky, Peter, Sridat, Justin and Lucy - I cannot express enough thanks for the work you all put in this weekend, work which was more time consuming and more demanding than originally anticpated and under less than optimum conditions. Many of you went way above and beyond the call of duty this weekend, and I was so glad that even amidst the chaos that was most of the weekend, I could rely on you guys and you guys upheld the good name of nzLARPS.

Specifically:
Nikki and Muppet, for running the Knight School.
Kim, for working way too hard as always.
Matt, Tim, Gareth Hawken and Tigger, for coming to rescue us and doing dishes for two and a half hours.
Gareth “Gaffy”, for hauling the trailer down, keeping the Golem in good repair and being inside the golem suit in heat that had me dying just in my cotton dress and allowing yourself to be pummelled by children.
Hannah, Brent, Josie and Charles, for being reliable and hardworking without complaint and with fantastic good humour.
Gene, for taking charge Saturday night and making sure everyone got fed.
Cameron, Judit, “King” Manky, Peter, Sridat, Justin and Lucy - for coming along, doing all your shifts, and being there to represent nzLARPS and be part of the team.

You all rock

Yours most sincerely,
Anna
El Presidente

Edit: Oh! And Vanya! I forgot to thank Vanya! I’m sorry, I blame the heat having boiled my brains over the weekend.

Can’t’ve been as bad as what you went through dude, I was sure you were gonna end up in the St. John’s encampment  Thanks Vanya, for being our big bad in the maze, and for being there without complaint, on time, to every gate shift.

wel except for the the hiccups which occured I had a good time

Id say this , I’m glad i was in th egolem suit when taking on the kings horde of children, felt sorry for rest of the poor buggas facing them with me, they didnt have four inches of foam to soften the blows

I’d also like to give a big ups too everyone that went and struggled on through the heat, tiredness and lack of sleep and made slaving away less of a chore due to the good group there.

But a big one that I’d like to call out that Anna so humblely missed is Anna herself. Anna managed to not only deal with organising all of us, but got stuck in with every facet of the work down there from gate to knight school to kids battle to the unfortanate extra work that was required of us and was often the first there when things needed doing.

I Agree , big cheer for Anna
I Agree , big cheer for Anna
The crowd roars!

hi guys,

I just wanted to say that you guys rocked. I realise that this year was fraught with one or two issues and those issues affected you guys on at least one occasion (thats called understating  ), I just wanted to let you know that as far as Nic and I are concerned, the event would not have happened without your tireless dedication and almost supernatural ability to deal with the stress you were put under.

I really dont know how to put into words how much your help meant to us, we thank all of you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts.

Mat

Um. What happened that people are so upset about?
