Anyone else think Lucretia would make an awesome Delirium/Delight? Seriously random girl that one

A video game larp, parodying all the best and worst things about computer/console gaming over the last three decades. It would be hilarious to include classic characters such as the main guy from Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem, Mario, Guybrush Threepwood, the Prince of Persia and for bonus weird points, maybe things like Pac Man. The pixellated heroes find themselves manifested in the forests of Motu Moana after the coalition of villains expunged them from the digital world. With the assistance of some confused gamers, they must find their way to the digital world.

Captain Planet larp. Iâve been suggesting this forever.
Sounds Cool 8) , now we need someone to write it

BAGSIES GAIA!!!
Shiny.
âFor all good men, O my brothers,â said Wayne in his strange chant, âthere is good wine to be drunk at the Inn at the Worldâs End.â

I am hoping to run a KiL Quest III game on Friday night of Chimera 2012. It is half written as the moment and is called âMinor Problemsâ and set in the Duchy of Petra (as opposed to Hunt for the Necromancer, which was set in the Duchy of Tui).
The Blurb goes: Calling all mercenaries. The Duchy of Petra in the Kingdom of Infinite Light is willing to hire any who call themselves heroes to help stem the flow of bandits that have overrun a portion of our Southern Hills. You will receive your instructions from the town of Fixit, and then proceed to the harassed village of Cephas. May Jah protect you (But a sword and armour wouldnât hurt).
If anyone wants to play a 'Bot (ComBot or other), they will need to make the appropriate costume and will need a Tinker character to be repaired by them, and will take the maximum party size from 6 to at least 7. Petra is home to Tinkers anyway.

Note to self: Bring good wine next year to Chimera for âset dressingâ
Itâs 40 years after the incident at the Cluedo mansion. Colonel Mustard was put in jail for the murde, but was he rightly convicted? The six suspects never spoke of it again. Tonight is the funeral of Miss Scarlet, who was the last surviving one of the six suspects. Miss Scarletâs will is to be read but she wonât be the only one to have say from beyond the grave. Forty years on, friends and family have gathered and are eager to break the silenceâŚwill the truth finally be known?
This would be awesome!!!
You could always have a look at the Clue movie, it cast more than just the 6 and kept to the story/board game well.
For a Cluedo larp, you could run it in a hall with wooden floors, and mark the floor with the layout of the Cluedo mansion from the board game using masking tape (the lightly-sticky stuff for painting that comes off easy). You could include the names of rooms, and gaps in the tape lines as doorways for players to pass from room to room. Nice way to create âseparateâ play spaces within one big one. Maybe some real furniture like tables and chairs thrown into the âroomsâ to flesh them out and give stuff to relax on and interact with.
Iâve been toying up with game insperations similar to Cluedo, it could also be possible to tie some string up and throw some old sheets over the string for walls to seperate the rooms, generally only in one direction, so people can see âaccross the lobbyâ kind of thing, but canât see into the ajoining room if âsomething sinisterâ is happening. I think for this to really work a solid game breifing would be needed, to ensure the players understand what they can & canât see. Some rules regarding sounds, ie if a gun were to go off close people could detect which room, but people at the âother end of the houseâ would know it went off, but not which roomâŚ
AnywayâŚ

I love the idea of having the environment segmented. So far, the larps Iâve been in seem to be a âthrow you in a room and have you interact with the first person you bump intoâ kind of deal. Having the rooms separated would provide more mystery as well, especially if you heard something going on and couldnât see it. We all probably have big enough imaginations to accommodate any scene, but personally, I think set design goes a long way to set the mood!
On another note, I just watched Tim Burtonâs Sweeney Todd and wondered if anyoneâs done a Burton-inspired larp? I had an image of people being at a Victorian dinner party and someone finding a toe in their soupâŚ
Iâve written a specifically Sweeney Todd inspired larp - so less toes-in-soup, and more copious amounts of throat slitting
Iâm a big fan of throat slitting!!
Umm ⌠that didnât sound wrong did it?

OohâŚdo we get to see this larp in action? I have a vial of fake blood that I knew I was saving up for a special occasionâŚ

Really, thereâs not a whole lot that sounds wrong in the larp world!
I ran it in Auckland in February 2009 and September 2009, and in Wellington March 2010. Itâs being rerun in Wellington in a few weeks by the Victoria Uni games club. Iâll probably run it again in Auckland some time but because itâs a 39 player game, I need to wait for the community to get enough fresh blood that I can rerun it
Sadly, I became fresh blood a very short time after this was run. >.< I hear only good things.
In other news, have been conisdering running a Stargate LARP on the Saturday Morning of Chimera. (Not related to the old Stargate Game in the Archives of this here Forum.)
Bad Rob. Bad. Write it before announcing intent this time
With permission I would like to please run a Knightshade one off scenario (PLEEEAASSSSEE Anna!).
But I also had this idea of writing a larp involving a number of monsters⌠vampires, werewolves, zombies, frankenstein, boggey man, and vairous other monster greats etc. The twist would be that theyâre all having a bit of a bitch over how the new versions are ruining it for them⌠with a view to decide which of them is the greatest of their type and also greatest monster of all time. Some inspiration here from the likes of Pestilence and Petrie dishes. Part political, part bitch fest, competition⌠ruthless murder? Thing is I donât think Iâm the right writer for it, so Iâll throw it out there.
Alternatively, similar concept except make it a âMonster Highâ. I know there was a TV/cartoon series somewhere out there, never saw it but I would imagine it could be quite hilarious having Dracula trying to instruct Edward. Or the wolfman frowning at the modern werewolves. Anyways Iâll leave those ideas out there.
I am hoping to run The Dance and the Dawn, which has apparently done the circuit a lot overseas, and is being formally published:
This game tells the tale of six beautiful Ladies who came to the court of the Queen of Ice for a midnight ball, and there danced with seven noble Lords, all in pursuit of the True Love that could heal their hearts.
The players take on the roles of nobles in a gothic fairy-tale realm, convened for a great ritual dance, who have one night to find love and redemption. Six players become the Ladies of Ash, who have come to the midnight ball in hopes of healing their heartbreak; seven become the cold, proud Lords of Ice who are there waiting for them, and who struggle with tragedies of their own; and the other two become the Queen of Ice and the Duke of Ash, the enigmatic figures who have arranged the whole affair. The game is an event that lasts about four hours, which will be taken up with dancing and dueling and courtly intrigueâŚand, of course, with the eternal hope of romance and joy.
If it doesnât show up in time, or if it canât be cut down to three hours, then I will either rerun Delicious Friends (premiering at Hydra!), or Nobilis: Torn From Glory.
