Chimera Menu

Hey Organisers!

Any idea on what the menu would be for Chimera this year? I states on the website, "The menu will be announced closer to the event"
Ok, so it might still be too far out, but i’m trying to figure out if I want to pre pay for the weekends food, or if I’ll just wing it for the food that I’d like.

Also how will the “and get to jump to the head of line!” be enforced? Will we have a pass / card that will state we’ve pre-paid and therefore allowed to go in front?

Cheers

Also, cause I like being a pain the in the proverbial, is the kitchen available for people to cook their own food before/after the caterers are done?

You get a coloured star on your name tag if you’ve prepaid. I think they’re pretty down on people doing their own cooking, because it gets in the way of the main cook. Although, there are now two kitchens available, so Anna might let people use the other one. Maybe?

Thanks Steph,
I’ve decided to skip the catering and will just have to put up with takeouts, junk food and sugar products :smiling_imp:

That’s going to be quite difficult given the spacing between rounds, even if you have a car.
That’s going to be quite difficult given the spacing between rounds, even if you have a car.
Although large groups of people strolling down to the fish & chip shop on the corner on Friday night is turning into something of a tradition.

Yes, but there’s plenty of time for that.

What’s wrong with the Chimera menu? I hear it’s fantastic and the chefs/cooks do an incredible job…

Chimera doesn’t serve dinner on Friday night

With regards to the menu, we hope to have it in about a week.

They do. I’m a ridiculously picky eater, and I’ve never had a problem with it.

(One of the advantages of the Friday-night fish n’ chip run is that there’s a fruit shop right nextdoor to the takeaways, so you can stock up on snack fruit for the weekend. Mandarins FTW!)

With the amount of mandarins generated at LARPS it’s a wonder they haven’t been used as spell packets at least once…

Hamish was close with his Potato bolt… Te hehehehe…

Re: Menu, I don’t like things such porridge, Rice pudding, stewed fruit. Breakfasts and desserts tend to leave me dis-satisfied.
I don’t remember what was at chimera last year. But I do remember missing out a few times cause of timing and what was on the menu.

Nothing against the cooks, just not my cup-o-tea as they say.

edit if the menu was out before the cut off date, I’d have checked it out and possibly still picked up the opportunity. Just in MY oppinion, it would have been better to have a menu before the cut off. Or at least an opportunity to pre-order after the menu came out.

Sure, I’ll extended the pre-order period by a week after we get the menu online. We just had some difficulty in securing a cook for this year’s event, which is why the menu has been delayed.

Spag bol always fills peops up. And the garlic goes a long way to keeping you healthy. Spag Bol ftw

I’m pretty sure the garlic is to ward against surprise vampires, but I suppose that’s tomayto/tomahto in many ways.

Too. much. tomatoe.

Tomayto, whatever.

This is true. At St Wolfgang’s Vampire Hunters there was garlic in everything, including the porridge.

So we have a menu now?

Not yet  Waiting to hear back from our lovely cook, Elle.

Elle’s cooking? Sweet!

In which case I have that much faith in her, I’ll transfer the monies over as soon as I put girls into bed

Which I have now done lol
