Chimera 2012 - Favourite/Funniest Moments

First game I played was Governors Dinner Party.
Cracked up when I got my character sheet for that as Robot Finlay is very similar to my regular role playing character (a scientist that pulls objects out of other dimensions). I guess the world will never know the wonders of the Finlay Bag after I died twice…

Finally I played in the Happily Ever After - White game.
I was Ali Baba. My characters brother must not trust me as he got another character to use there once per a game power to get the truth out of me to find the location of the magic lamp. I didn’t even know there was a lamp in the game for sure let alone where it was, but thanks for confirming it must exist out there for me. I did have a suspicion as my character knew the password to use it.

Many characters came to me asking if I knew how to use a Magic Lamp and that they have information on the location of the lamp for my brother. I always reply, have you tried rubbing it? And, you can tell me and I’ll pass that on to him.

Eventually after lying through my teeth to Little Red Ridding Hood that the Lamp was worthless and that it used to have a genie in it but not anymore and that I just want it to give to my loving brother, she handed it over.

I then proceeded to run to a GM, summoned the genie and wished for Ultimate Magic!

Then I went to my brother giving him the now worthless (but he didn’t know this) lamp in trade for a future favour. Then using my awesome powers I cured Ariel as long as she comes with me back to arabia so we may court.

As the game was ending Queen Grimhilde offered me her Kingdom for a Magic Mirror. So using my magic I made her a new one.

So ended the game with my own Kingdom, got the girl and I have All-powerful Magic! :stuck_out_tongue:

At some point not long after Aunt Beatrice Began It finished, Saskia (who’d been playing Beatrice, while I’d been playing her chronic alcoholic brother, neither of who liked the other) came past wherever I was, and we carried on our interactions in the game, saying some nasty things to each other. I was cracking up on the inside, but I seem to remember the person sitting near me, who hadn’t been part of the game, looked somewhat shocked by this

Oh really? How? Who were you? … i’m not sure I trust that tone of voice! :stuck_out_tongue:

*edit … Just realised you were rumple… I had my suspicions. I’ll pass, thanks though! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m going to assume he was Rumpelstiltskin, from that tone. I wouldn’t take that offer if I were you.

(No, the fact that I’m already Fae has nothing to do with it…)

Lol yeah… just edited my post when I figured that out! LOL

So feeling the need to post my ramble.

Bad Dreams: Trust – I loved this game. I had a weird response to it, I felt the need to look after the others, but had a kind of screw the consequences to myself way of dealing with it. Favorite moment has to be in the room with the doctor, him asking us the questions to test our responses, to see if we should be guards, etc. I kept interrupting him and asking him questions back, ‘So Doc, do you shock yourself when you come?’ I was not going to survive this game. But I died on my own terms.

World’s End – Adored this character, she was a complete sociopath, and did not really care about anything, until the end. Best moment was watching the undeserved success of the new God, Booping people into what they asked for. Or what he felt like doing. I cracked up when, after being tortured by the demon hunter, he came over and told me ‘Look, I know we did not get off to the best start…’

Sacred Lands – First mate of the English Ship - Flirting with the first mate of the other ship, so I could have a duel with her as that was one of my goals, worked better than making an excuse to hit her. Voting to go back to the ship when the Lords had died, ‘I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not sticking around to be eaten!’. Our ships doctor killing our Zombie Lord with a healing potion, good thinking, and me having to yell down, ‘look I’m not bringing him on board until he is laying down’.

Happy Every After: Black – Princess Patience – Loved this game, it was also the hardest role-playing for me for a very long time, she was so obedient and quiet. Thought the short interaction I had with the cowardly lion was sooo cute, awesome role-playing there, reward well deserved. EVERYONE, some how managing to not be looking every time me and my abusive husband interacted, even if they were looking mere seconds before. Crying on the Fairy Godmother’s shoulder that it had all gone wrong, Rumplestiltskin didn’t love me, and he would not kiss me as he hated me, and he knew it would change him. Then chasing around after him for the rest of the game, using love potions, him giving up all of his emotions and joining the winter court, breaking Patience’s heart in the process and eventually the Fairy Godmother making him kiss me with Major magic. Turns out it was true love in the end. The game finished with the Fairy Godmother having been…well we have all read the earlier post…Rumplestiltskin more than a little pissed off, and dragging me out of the door away from my husband. One can only imagine how it goes from there I am sure, true love does not mean smooth. Now that is a sequel I would love to see.

Quick Bright Things – Flute – Ambiguously gay guy. Not sure who he was in love in, how he felt about anything and easily frustrated. Kissed both of my best friends, male and female, still could not decide. The chaos ensued as people started turning into animals, and love potions were everywhere. One of the moments that will stick in my head is Snug starting to turn into a whale. I ended up hooking up with the man whore of the group and we all lived happily ever after.

Steampunk Alive – The Great Train Robbery – Lara O’Tool. So, so many stand out and funny moments, one of them being after me and the Aussie had snuck of into the kitchen and been plotting how to rob the train, the guard catching us and me pretending we had been caught in a tryst. The guard (Mila) was not having it though, and went to tell the main security guy, who I had found out towards the start of the game was my real father. When he came out to ask about the incident in the kitchen, when I am sure the main thing on his mind was ‘Were you hiding a gun and planning to rob the train?’ I went into a 2 minute babble saying ‘No dad, we didn’t have sex, I only kissed him, it was his accent, he asked me nicely. I would never do that. I’m a virgin…Oh God I’m telling my dad I’m a virgin’. Eventually he just wandered off in embarrassment, problem diverted. What made it though was the look on his face.

I swear it’s almost like you people don’t trust me or something roflmao :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

So, yup, Patience finally got her, errrr, man  She was awesome and there were some very very cool emotional scenes surrounding it. I’d managed to keep acquiring more and more power as the night progressed, was on the verge of what looked to be more major break throughs … and then that DAMNED fairy (played by the ever adorable Amy)knocked herself for 6 to have my emotions come sweeping back in full tumult. Obviously, she had to die :stuck_out_tongue:

I have to confess though, it was actually more fun losing everything at the last minute than it been to slowly gather it up as the night progressed (as much as fun as that was!!). Lol, and even as we were leaving I was thinking of ways I could get it all back :stuck_out_tongue:

Things to remember though:

  • If you’re going to make a deal with the devil, ALWAYS know the cost before you sign on the dotted line
  • Dream big. Never pay big and get a pittance in return
  • Not all deals are helpful nor are all curses bad
  • True love conquers all

Something else that kind of amused me: During Stars Over Strangeways, at some point I accidentally OOC dropped the walking stick I had for the character, which of course meant that in trying to pick it up IC I fell on the ground. A few seconds earlier, someone else had hit the ground for some reason, and so when a couple of the players came back into the room after having gone to be sneaky IC a moment later, they saw that two people were on the floor. But I imagine my reason for being on the floor was much more mundane than the other character’s. It was amusing to me how well-timed it all was.
