Its one of those things about these big games that happens. There is usually some time before the game to mingle/figure out who everyone is, and we are trying to include pictures on your final character sheets which will make this easier, but it is one of those things. Even if you got there names, if you don’t them out of character you would be just as ignorant. At least you will have some of the people you know to start of with.

Maybe chuck the cast list up on the boards? If you know who is playing said character that would give you the three rounds prior at Chimera to put a face to the name.
Character sheet packs for the Gordian Knot will be available from Friday night, so there will be more than 5 minutes to get to find/recognise the people you want to recognise. We are trusting people to be discreet about finding out who the people they might need to know about and if the other person doesn’t know that there is a connection. (Hope that last sentence makes sense …)
Makes complete sense! I don’t know the game at all so i’m not giving away a plot line, but if my character knew some one and wanted to kill them or something, it would make for a very awkward situation if you found them long beforehand and went “oh yeah, you’re blahblah blah, im trying to kill you!”.
I think what they mean is actually not just about evil intentions. There was that post from Muppet somewhere about someone approaching him saying they know him, and it turned out he was supposed to not know because his character had amnesia. There may be all sorts of reasons, you can usually guess from description of your interaction with that person how to better go about it. Makes cool situations when someone suddenly does the whole “I am your father, Luke” (cheers, Derek 
) thing, but on the other hand may give you extra challenge, e.g. if you are looking for someone for whom you have evil intentions and you don’t know who plays that person, and IC you are not supposed to know what they look like, it makes space for extra roleplaying (I had police inspector after me in first Great Ex, he never found me, maybe because I was a ninja).
We have completed sending out the initial character blurbs to all players. We have also sent out the second email with information about your characters planets to 90% of the players.

Most of the factions have been sent an email with their other faction members, and have been added to the private forums. Factions not done are Sylvestrar, Fefferburg and The Blake mercenaries.
Note there are also independent characters in the game that don’t get assigned to a faction, so sorry, not everyone gets a diatribe private forum.
I can’t seem to see the private forum for the Camfords. Is that supposed to be happening?

The private forums are shown at the bottom of the main hosted board, so sometimes people need to scroll down to see them all.
Can anyone in the Camford delegation see the private forum? - no-one else has posted there yet.
I’ve looked a few times and there’s nothing. Just the Chimera GM’s forum, the Teonn Private forums and the support forum.
Sorry, my mistake. There were three groups that I hadn’t added permissions for properly, and Camford was one of them. I’ve fixed them now, so you’ll be able to see the group.
I’m not sure if this is the place to put this, but I’ve been assigned a character aligned with the Dyson Consortium. I don’t mind that I haven’t received my character sheet yet, but I would really appreciate the faction’s costuming directions so I have some time to work out what I should wear, since it’s the main larp I want to be able to put together something good.

We are in the process of sending out character backgrounds, so you have a chance to read them before Chimera. Don’t panic if you don’t have one yet!
One of us (Hannah, Malu, Prema or me) will post when we’ve completed the send out, and if you haven’t received one at that point then let us know
