Workshops are also on the menu…

times and topic headings will be added here as they are confirmed… but larping related workshop rumors I hear include making larp safe weapons, and sci-fi and fantasy themed costuming and makeup… watch this space for more info.

If you are thinking about costumes for our Midsummer Eve flagship larp on the Saturday night, and are looking for something specific… how about commisioning something through Lady Heather Rose Designs. A new custom designer and seamstress business run by Sarah who is available to help you make that special garment.

Her most recent creations include the awesome Rad Roach outfit that Mila wore at Chimera

Check out her newly created blog with pictures of her work here heatherrosedesign.blogspot.com/

More names added to the list.

Registrations for the Larps are open.

You register by filling out the registration form on the BattleCry website here: battlecry.battlecry.co.nz/rego

Is there any news on what the role playing games will be? I am trying to decide whether or not to come for the role playing or just to pay for the two larps and social board game for the rest of the event.

If you head to the roleplaying page on the BattleCry website and click onto each of the GM pages you will see game blurbs for the games currently on offer. Not are all on the timetable yet but a lot of the blurbs are on the website. I’m adding game blurbs as they get sent to me and a full timetable will be advertised during January. All pre-registered players will get first dibs on the games they want to play in each of the 4 sessions once the timetable has been finished.

We currently have at least 9 games offered in every session, so loads to choose from.

Announcing the first Larp related workshop for BattleCry 2011…

Derek has offered to run a workshop on “in his words”:

“Demonstrating the basics of creating a larp safe weapon using a fibreglass core, EVA foam and a latex outer. The demo will take about an hour and there will be other weapons, armour, shields etc there people can take a look at. If time permits then I may be able to demonstrate wax hardening leather as well.”

This will be held on Saturday 19th February starting at 11am. It is free for anyone already registered to attend BattleCry. Anyone else who wants to come along for just this one workshop is asked to make a gold coin donation when signing in for the workshop at the Registration Front Desk at BattleCry.

I am taking bookings now, please email me on info@battlecry.co.nz to book a space.

More workshops being worked on as I type

Character questionaires have been sent out to all registered for the Flagship Larp at BattleCry with a list of the updated characters available.

Please let me know if you don’t receive a copy of the questionaire. Only 6 weeks left to go…

I’ve just put the comprehensive list of characters for the Flagship Larp on Saturday night (Midsummer’s Eve) up on the BattleCry website here: battlecry.battlecry.co.nz/larp/flagship

As the characters get assigned I’ll be crossing them off the list so you can see what’s still available.

Rightio, a bunch of the characters have gone already. And there will be a cut off for registrations for the larp of the 4th of February. This way we can make sure all the assigned characters are confirmed and given out so people have time to plan costuming and stuff.

So if you wish to play please register before the 4th of Feb.

We still have lots of interesting characters (including Major characters), so get in quick for a big role!

Closing date for the Flagship Larp is this Friday 4th February. We still have 7 spaces left and some pretty awesome characters to pick from.

Flagship Larp registrations is now closed.

Saturday afternoon Paranoia Larp is now full.

There are still spaces for the Friday night Bad Dreams and 1 space left in the Sunday afternoon Bunker 29 game.

Unfortunately the Bad Dreams: The Dead Dreams of Spring will not be run at this BattleCry.

However we have an alternative Bad Dreams: The Hidden instead. I’m about to email all those currently registered for the Friday night Larp with the changes. The numbers have dropped from 20 to 12… so we still have space left for more players. Register on the BattleCry website if you want to play.

I have emailed all those originally signed up for the Bad Dreams: Dead Dreams of Spring larp. I’ve only had a couple of replies concerning if people want to play in the changed event Bad Dreams: The Hidden. Please check your emails and reply so we know if there is enough to carry on with it, or to cancel in completely. Thanks.

What time does the flagship larp start?

Oops, that info should have been on the website. Adding now.

7pm meet up in the ASB foyer area for a briefing before the game starts.
7:30pm game starts in the cafe area beside the main miniatures hall. Game is scheduled to run 3ish hours so finishing 10:30pm to 11pmish.

Once the game has finished people are welcome to hang around to chat etc but we will ask that the chatting moves to the small wooden gym area which is available all night so we can secure the main stadium area.

Please check in with Erin during Saturday sometime as I believe she will have character packets for everyone which will include the final character print out (just in case any minor charges have happened over the next few days)
