Auckland Regional AGM

One thing I would like to see resolved this upcoming year, is the gear storage situation. i.e. we need to find a new, hopefully permanent, solution. This has been on the agenda for the past year, and both Mike (as president) and I and (gear officer) have been too busy to undertake the effort required to sort it out. In reality the gear officer puts in quie a bit of time beyond the committee eetings, so I think it unfair for it to be their responsibilty.

I think we need one person who is dedicated to getting it sorted this year, and envision it being a general officer on the committee, or at least someone in the community who can be relied upon, who will make it happen.

Ideally someone who has experience with grant applications, dealing with council, seeking sponsorship etc. Someone who knows who to talk to, or is willing to do the research to find out who to talk to.

This can be discussed further at the Auckland RGM, but thought I’d put it out there for people to start thinking about, and considering if its a role they could take on, or if they know someone with the experience we could shoulder tap for the position.e

I am willing to do this, and this is the reason I wanted to stand for gear officer in the first place. I believe that the gear is NZLARPS’s most valuable asset behind its members and with the projected growth of Crucible, and the growth already with Teonn, the gear needs a permanent, safe and accessible location that we don’t need to move again in 1-2 years time.

So just double checking, the AGM has been postponed till we sort this out?

Yes I think so, though I think it is up to Regional Director to call it officially.
