2006 Committee: Nominations!

Nominate people for the nzLARPS committee 2006-2007 here!

Here is the list of positions and the people that currently fill them.
To nominate someone, simply say who you nominate and for what position.
Nominees must also accept their nomination.
We’ll vote on it at the nzLARPS AGM which is currently pegged for Wednesday 13 September in Auckland.

Report on initiatives to the committee.

General Officer x 2 Nikki and Craig
Can take up responsibilities as required.

I nominate Steve Shipway to return as treasurer. Steve is totally on top of his game in handling the accounts and has been quietly invaluable to the society in the relatively thankless treasury role. Despite juggling terrifically busy lives for himself and his “sprog” he’s put together a number of documents including the projects financial plan and the behemothic constitution as well as adapting Og to a live game and running it. I predict his experience and competence will be un-challenged in this running.

Do you accept?

Note: nominations do not need to be this wordy.

I accept the nomination… I guess I can second myself.

One thing we have not mentioned can you stand for multiple roles if you want, and take your preferred? IE, stand for pres, but if you dont get in then stand for general…

Some way of letting people be voted onto the committee even if they don’t get the specific role they prefer would be a good thing.

Incidentally, I would like to nominate everyone else on the committee to retain their roles. Someone else second? Does everyone accept? (makes it easier)

It was not mentioned that there is a ninth place currently unfilled (the committee is supposed to be 9 people, according to the constitution, I think…)

When does the new committee start?

It really doesn’t feel like it’s been a year…

I was kind of hoping we’d get a nice little parade of nominations, increasing the awareness of what these people do and why we should keep them. For example, people assume Ryan’s on the committee when he’s actually not. We can “make it easy” by nominating, seconding and accepting ourselves later if it run close to the wire!

The AGM will be in September, at which point the new committee takes over.

How about sending out a message to everyone in the Society that we are waiting for nominations? I can do that. In fact, I will do that. goes and be’s secretarial

There are 3 general roles, not 2.
2 was the first idea, but was increased to 3. We are down 1 since Hans resigned from the committee and AJ moved into that role.

I Adam Weller nominate Rhiannon as Secretary.
Rhiannon has done an excellent job as the current Secretary. The recording the minutes, being at all bar one meeting and getting the minutes up on the forum faster than a speeding bullet.
Also getting all the membership’s sorted, recording names, getting membership cards out, always bringing membership forms to all the LARPS and promoting NZLARPS.

I, Malu Fink nominate Malu for community officer.

I Andrew (AJ) Kerlsake, accept and second Steve’s nomination of myself for the committee.

Idealy i would like to be only a general member, but will do the project officer role if needed.

I accept my nomination as Gear Officer and second my nomination.

I agree, it is more clear if each nomination is seperate.

I Adam Weller, nominate Andrew (AJ) Kerlsake for project officer.
AJ has done a great job as the project officer in the last few months, a role which started out a bit undefined but is growing more important as more larps come on board. He always get project updates to the meetings, even he can not make it himself, and this has become an important standard part of our regular meeting’s agenda.
Also I believe AJ has been in the background as crew or assistant GM in a number of LARPs so has experience as well.

I Adam Weller, nominate Mike Curtis as Gear Officer.
Not only does Mike have the space, but thanks to Mike we now have all our gear in one place, and have had several gear workshops from tiding up and recording to new gear creation.
Also Mike has had experience making gear with Skirmish in the past so he knows what needs to happen to make new gear and look after what we have.

[quote=“The Constituion”]Community Officer

I nominate and reccomend Anna Klein as community officer.

Malu has self-nominated for this important position and Steve’s blanket-nomination includes Lucy Telford, but neither have been seconded at this stage and Lucy hasn’t dropped in to accept her nomination. Anna has charisma +10, speaks out, is accessible and loves larping. She’s got contacts in the AMERICA club and may soon work at Spookers, and she has strong written and oral communication skills that she’s not afraid to use.

I nominate Malu as a general officer.

Can people please ignore this blanket nomination.
It is not to difficult to have each nomination done separately, and then we can all see the reason for the nomination.
Seperate nominations makes all of them transparent, for both new possible members and the current committee.
