Is it just me, or has Diatribe been real quiet for about three months? I initially just chalked it up to Christmas but it’s now late February and the tumbleweed just keeps on bouncing past.
Where’s everyone at? Is Diatribe no longer cool? 
Considering this is the first reply in over 24 hours it seems you might be right. I’m making my monthly or so drop in at the moment.

Well, I check this place as part of my ‘websites to check every day’ routine. I can’t speak for anyone else.
I think part of it is that some people only ever post just before and after an event, and some of them haven’t been to anything in a while. Otherwise, no I don’t know why this place is proving quiet.

Still beavering away down here. Now that I am semi-retired and only hold the occasional practice, life is easy. Running a Live Role Play is a very thankless task.
Thankless? Wow you got the suck end of the stick, my players/crew are very supportive, at least so far.
No, it’s not just you, Anna. I’m surprised at how dead it’s been around here, especially before and after Battlecry. I thought there’d be more kibitzing and whatnot. I miss my vicarious thrills!
There’s nothing happening this year until May, so until then we don’t really have a lot to talk about.
I’ve been checking it from time to time, but I feel pretty detached from the Auckland Larp scene right now, to be honest.
Maybe even LARP can fall victim to the woes of economic recession… certainly somethings up, last year larp discussion boards ran pretty hot. Wolfgangs filled pages and pages of IC thread. The May game has had much less chatter, though there still seems a number keen.
I’d say the same for KS although I have to say I have more contact via other media like Facebook/MSN/email of recent times. It just hasn’t been as necessary to post here.
Of course, some of the lack of chatter is of concern, especially if things like rides to Hamilton are to be sorted.
Busy organising a one-off. And whenever I check in here, no-one seems to be talking…
I check about once a day, and not even every day, but if nothing happens - no point to wonder. And even if it does…
I’ll say honestly - my great decline of Diatribe use started right after we got stuck with one layout. I don’t like this green, and for a while I was asking to make an alternative, like that standard blue option that is used by default on many boards and that was available before. I was told everyone have to use same layout and that new one has many cool features. Yes, it does, I’m not gonna argue with it. But I still don’t like the green. I used to spend way too much time on Diatribe reading pretty much every new post, checking for updates every half an hour. After compulsory change to “green only” I just can’t make myself stay for long enough. I sometimes get pounced by a GM or a fellow player who requires me to check something here - but I feel so slack. I have no idea what’s going on in KS roleplay threads though keep telling myself I need to read them. I didn’t even read that last PM from Dave about what happened to my character. I’m still greatly interested in game, but can’t read the stuff here (sorry Jared, I promise to keep trying… maybe). Yeah, and not reading the StW roleplaying thread neither.
I don’t know if it is all just because of green, or there was something else that happened at the same time (can’t recall anything like that). I’m not gonna ask for any layout changes any more, and I’m not gonna analyse why I can rarely make myself read Diatribe. I just can’t be bothered. Sorry.

The KS ic thread kind of halted due to the interruption of a planned game not happening… events were set to move from there. To be honest I haven’t pushed it along because organising games and real life have been more critical.
I am keen to see the IC thread at the Drunken Donkey Inn used for player disussion both IC and OOC outside of the story arc but if no one is using Diatribe it is a moot point.
As for the colour scheme, its not an influence for me.

I check the forum fairly reguarly, but it definately has dried up a fair bit.
Probably a case of people getting busied out with real life, and also there are other websites where we communicate.
When I lamented at the quietness of Diatribe, I wasn’t inviting the spambots to come on in with their Harry Potter quotes, WoW levelling and beauty advice…
Ahh when BOTs spam… it gets messy… and more frequent too… we need a cyber terrier to rat them out!
