I’m guessing some kind of glue…
Hey Derek are you talking about making a scar or attaching a scar?
I have been playing with making scars some out of Latex and some out of gelatine (using modeling clay, then making a cast first) then using Pros - Aide to attach them. I know people also use Liquidm latex direct on to the skin to build them up.
I have some Kryolen scar and effect wax, but that suits smaller scars and I have been old probably not suitable for a weekend game.
There was also the stuff Dave used at Wolfgangs for his burns (don’t knoe name sorry)
It’s Mehron Rigid Collodion and I have 2 bottles of it. I’ll bring it to the game. Makes old scars and you peel it off, rather than wash it off. Not the best for hairy parts of skin! Looks good though.
It’s also quite an interesting sensation as it puckers up the skin it’s applied to Norm and I will likely have some on us too (well not necessarily on us, but we will have some bottles).
By the way, for newer looking scars, paint a fine red line where you want the scar to go. Smudge it slightly with your finger, then paint 2-3 layers of collodion over the top (bottle comes with it’s own brush btw). The more layers you paint, the more puckering you get.
For really old scars, just the collodion by itself is fine. I’ve found that the less mobile the section of skin is, the longer it stays on. It starts to peel off by itself after a while if it’s somewhere like a joint or around your mouth.
Where do you get it from?
Lol, Derek.
Be nice if they had a price there. Minifies in Chch has it for $37.50 + $16 P&P (Hazmat classified product). I find Minifies really expensive though, so hopefully Costume Magic is cheaper.
A bottle will do miles of scars. Even in my job I doubt I’ll ever do that many, so feel free to borrow mine if you want to try it! Can sting a bit on delicate skin. Wouldn’t really recommend putting it near the eyes.
