Western LARP - preLARP Survey

Hi everyone,

With Anna Cruse, and John, we are planning to run a LARP translated from Fench (the train will whistle one last time). However before putting a lot of efforts in this event we would like to know if people are keen on trying.

This will be a LARP with 14 players, 5 Crew members, will be run in he afternoon of 21st or 28th of July (both dates are free on NZ LARP calendar). Initially the scenario is supposed to be run in 8 hours, nevertheless, to fit the NZ standars we will do hour best to cut this to half the time, hence we will also be able to skip the meal and offer that for a lower price (aiming for 10 to 15 dollars a player and 5 per crew member).

Please answer here if you are keen to participate. If we have enouh answer we’ll get everything started and will give more details.

Is it same that was run October last year? It was awesome! Did you guys actually already translated it from Fench? The google-translated character sheets were creating some confusion last time (not to mention we all died from laughter when comparing them afterwards)
I would totally recommend this game, it was fantastic.

Actually, if you do get enough interest, see at maybe including the meal, because it made amazing IC situation. IMHO, of course :smiley:
(plastic cutlery breaking and flying everywhere was a lot of fun too)

I’m interested. And I would be probably just as interested in the longer version as the shorter version, especially if the shorter version would require removing some good parts of the game.

This is another game and we are planning to translate it with our little fingers and have it reviewed by Anna as we are not native speakers. I heard about last time confusion… So if you are interrested in another fRench LARP feel free to join.

Yep - new game, translation by native English speaker (last time I didn’t have the time, but the Google version was hilarious, you gotta admit), I’m OK to cook food again, and this time I’ll try to find cutlery that can cut…

(no, I am not running to make it right now, no, I am not a costume-obsessed freak hiding away two dozens boxes of fabrics)

well it ranges for women from indian to mexican with a nun and a standard western outfit… Depending on your role.

we started the translation yesterday and we might have found a venue…

ok, So we have translated 55 of the 90 pages of the scenario so far, and yesterday we visited a venue that will probably do the trick.

Soon we give you a date and start enrolling people in order to give you your roles soon enough.

Good and bad news :

  • On the good news side : the translation is almost finished
  • On the bad news side : The venus is not available until september… We’ll keep you posted on when we can run it !
