Want to be on TV (again)?

Hi everybody,

I’ve been contacted by the producer of a new NZ comedy sketch show who is looking for some extras to play in one of the comedy sketches. He needs 8-15 people to dress up in “mid-evil” (I’m reasonably sure he means medieval) peasant garb and hang out in the background for a three hour shoot in the third week of November. The gig is unpaid but the production company will make a donation to nzLARPS in exchange for our help.

Are there at least eight people who want to spend three hours being extras, getting to be on TV and raising some money for nzLARPS? Keep in mind there is a good chance this will be on a week day.

Until I get a job I’m free and I’d be happy to.

if its thursday / friday i’m free

If someone can give me a lift I might be able to come up and do it…

Do you know if the sketch is set in medieval times, or is it a parody about larpers or reenactors?

I understand it’s a Robin Hood-esque sketch set in 1600s.
I understand it’s a Robin Hood-esque sketch set in 1600s.
1600 is well into the Renaissance - wide skirts, torso flattening corsets, men in tights and big poofy shorts, that kind of thing. Does the guy have his period right?

Yeah, I raised an eyebrow at that too, medieval’s been over for quite some time by 1600. I’ll clarify when I next email him, but I get the feeling historical authenticity isn’t a big feature of the comedy sketch, I think he’s going for a vague “ye olde” feel. Techinically, his email did say “mid-evil” so perhaps he didn’t mean medieval at all, but mid-evil - a sort of middle-region nefariousness.

So thats beyond jaywalking but before baby eating?

“I probably never should have taken this course to begin with, but I figured it was mid-evil lit, not advanced evil, how hard could it be? So I skipped intro to evil or whatever, but, how is it that I get an ‘F’ when this guy that we’re reading, Chauncey, can’t even spell?”

Ah, I love Dollhouse…

Yeah sure - I’ll be working fulltime by then, but I’m sure I can swap a shift out.
