set in NZ or filmed in NZ, “thirty days of night” should be popping up soon to
The trailer looked interesting.
I looked it up in IMDB, and it really is set in NZ. Wow. (Sorry for doubting you, Scotty.)
Filmed in NZ, set in Alaska in a town where every year it is dark for a month. Based on a graphic novel. I know the costume designer and she said it was very scary, and I’m looking forward to it.

sorry that should have been two seperate statements
i know the story, i auditioned for one of the main roles.
The one set in Alaska seems a bit splattery for me. I think I’ll see the noir-vampire one, though - more my scene.
To me it looked a bit too horror from the trailer, though the beginning was intriguing, but then it became a bit too scary (though I saw it on the big screen so maybe it made it so much more scary)
Interesting side note…
Its set in “Nuovo Zelandia” which is similar to the Russian name for New Zealand. (Correct me if I’m wrong Aiwe)

“Nuovo” sounds Spanish to me
In Russian will be “Novaja Zelandia”
I almost bought the DVD copy for $3. Sadly, I just was not that interested. It is supposed to be set in alternative NZ
Theres anotner Kiwi film out at hte same time I’d like to see.
"The Devil Dared Me To"
Its from the “Back-of-the-Y” team.
Synopsis:
A young boy (Randy Cambell) from the ass end of the world (sheep farm in New Zealand) dreams of becoming the greatest stuntman in New Zealand by jumping from the South Island to the North Island (15 miles). The only thing standing in his way is a legacy of bad luck from his dear dead daredevil dad and of course, a villain (Dick Johansonson), a vicious cowardly maniac whose days in the slimelight are dwlindling as Randy’s star starts to shine. With the help of a goofy stunt team called The Hellriders and a one legged love interest (Tracy) young Randy may just pull off the greatest stunt ever seen. You can bet your ass there’ll be action, carnage, mayhem, gore and lots of laughs.
Eighty bloody minutes of raw unpolished, good-for-nuttin’, petrol-guzzlin’, amputatin’, dumb- as-hell, nut-bustingly funny, Five-Star kickass redneck entertainment from lil ol New Zealand.
6.7/10 on IMDB
The Devil Dared Me To I will pay to see, Perfect Creature I more than likely won’t.
Going to see Perfect Creature premire tonight.
Oh, and Underworld 3 is in preproduction in Auckland, to be filmed in locally.
Oh god.
(The first one was filmed in Hungary. I realised this mid-movie when I found I could read all the Hungarian signs in the background)
I for one am inclined to picket the filming of that abomination here.
i am being put up for a part 8)
yeah you wanna touch me you wanna touch me
