A colleague at work has asked me if I could organise a fundraiser for Cure Kids.
So I think a Kids Skirmish adventure would be the go, and I was wondering if there were any larpers who would be prepared to donate a morning to a Good Cause.
I’ve checked my calendar, and the day that I can manage is March 22nd. This is a week after Crucible, which is the major larp event in March. You’d be looking at an 8am start for setup, larping starting around 9am and finishing around 12 noon.
My preferred approach would be to have 5 - 6 encounters, with groups of larpers being assigned to each encounter, and the kids arriving in parties every 15 minutes. This allows a large scale of kids, and a specialisation at each encounter that allows for cool props/costumes/challenges/roleplaying to be set up.
The venue is Western Springs, and there will be staggered parties that follow a specific path (with a guide). The story will be linear (not that the kids will know) and the idea is that we will able to handle one party every 10 minutes or so. With good marketing, I think we could attact about 80 kids and handle about 10 groups (of approx 8 kids each). That would mean we finish up around noon.
Please post here if you would like to help. I can see this model being one that we could adapt for NZLARPS-oriented fundraising as well.
