Gosh, what’s ‘jeepfom’?

Did you guys decide against running Breakout Day?

Yeah, there wasn’t a lot of interest for Breakout Day. I may run it some other time as a seperate one off event, or during one of the other time slots if we get an overwhelming number of players…

Jeepform is a Swedish larp thing. We did promise to deliver experimental games in our lineup

Also I nominate Alista to run Orcball, since it was his idea after all…

Also:

Friday 7pm-9pm: Keep hall: Snacks on sale, also meal tickets for upcoming days (reserve your breakfasts now and get discounts)

Is this the time period when exhibitors (eg: costume retailers, larp-related groups, etc) can set up stalls in the hall? Are you selling tables to anyone? Has anyone booked a table?

I might make breakfast start at 8am for earlybirds.

Micro LARP (3-5 players) with scenes and themes and monologues and stuff:

Unfortunately it tends towards the kitchen sink end of the spectrum. And while Swedes might find a tale of alcoholism culminating in suicide riveting (not to mention relevant to their lives , I’m not sure it would be that fun to play.

The soap opera Jeepform isn’t exactly dark or kitchen-sinky, it’s fairly specific light-hearted satire: jeepen.org/games/soap/

I’ve read accounts of larger Jeepform too.

That’s a change, and a welcome one. Most of the other ones look very serious, and some (e.g. “GR”) quite icky in their choice of subject matter.

Though from reading Drunk, there’s a neat pacjkage of nifty tricks waiting to be stolen and used in other larps…

I dunno, I think uncomfortable themes have their place too if you think larp can be more than entertainment.

Speaking of larps about suicide, I ran one in NZ with suicide as a theme and found it to be all too relevant here.

…which is way off the topic. What I should have said is that Jeepform is just a pile of techniques that resembles a cross between larp and improv, and the subject matter is whatever you like. The Nordic larpers who invented it may well attach some subject matter and themes that wouldn’t appeal as much here, but that stuff can be changed while still using the format.

I think Jeepform, especially that soap one, could be quite suitable for an easy social-mingling intro to the con.
