As for medical reasons I’m no longer able to rely on my grandparents’ car, would some kind vehicle-possessing Aucklander be able to transport my gear and myself from the New Lynn train station to Chimera and back again on the Sunday?

I can pick you up on the Friday night, not sure about the dropping off on Sunday, as I have already offered to Daphne, and there will be half a dozen lifejackets that take up a bit of space. But I’m sure we all can work it out over the weekend.
If you’re coming by train can you get off at Avondale Station - although not closer to Motu Moana, its more on the way from my place. Also there have been major road work / reconstruction around New Lynn Station, and I’m not sure if it has finished yet and is all clear. If Avondale doesn’t work for you, I can still manage New Lynn.
