Top Five Video Games

What is your list of top five video/computer games of all time?

After plenty of umming and ahing I settled on this, in no particular order:

Donkey Kong Country 3 (Snes) - Fantastic game, considered to be the worst in the series but I love it.

The Curse of Monkey Island (PC) - Funny, good voice acting, challenging at times and involves pirates!

Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness (PC) - Loved it as a kid growing up.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - As far as I’m concerned the best game ever, loved it and still do.

Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) - Loved it, best Mario game ever imo, fantastic, simple fun.

I’ve just found a cool website video game for sale.I find it very interesting and I want to share it with you.

I think if U have passion with game Please refer to this website :LINKSPAM REMOVED

That’s possibly the most well constructed “please access my spyware/virus site” post I’ve ever seen… pity about the games you’ve selected as “best” followed by a blatant ad. Nice try though :stuck_out_tongue:

Viperion

The spammer has great taste. I love The Curse of Monkey Island.

I’m actually quite impressed. Spambots are getting better. Next stop, Skynet!

(Note: Following opinion is probably tainted by the current Elder Scrolls hype that’s flowing through my head)
Just wait 'till 11/11/11.
Then you can put all the The Elder Scrolls games in there =D.

I’m not going to buy any “best games of all time” list that doesn’t have Alex Kidd in Miracle World or Tetris in it. Though The Curse of Monkey Island is sort of awesome

Is The Curse the one where you lick the alligator tongue? I loved that game.

Kids these days :unamused:

Any list without Pong and Colossal Cave Adventure really can’t be taken seriously…

Ignoring the whole Spam thing…

My 5.

 1. Nethack - Insanely complex and hard game, in development for over 20 years and with amazing replayability. Almost the first open source project and well worth playing.

 2. Dungeon Keeper - One of the first games where you got to play the bad guy, great gameplay, lots of fun and the ability to take over individual minions and play them in the first person was awesome.

 3. Magic Carpet - A first person shooter that was created not long after Doom that took the genre and did something interesting with it rather than just being a dungeon bash. Lots of fun and the original box came with 3D glasses for a 3D mode that didn’t really work but was a nice try .

 4. Populous - One of the first of the God Sims, Very re-playable well balanced and some great effects. Nothing like a good flood followed by massive earthquakes to destroy your enemy!

 5. Ceasar III - The game that took Sim City and actually turned the genre into something playable, challenging and fun while opening the door for a host of other similar city-building games.

Oh and

 1. League of Legends, free game, current addiction, come play

Mandos
/s

… well… even though the link was remove, i feel like a right idiot. I would totally have clicked that link, HOW DARE THEY PREY ON MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES TO GAIN MY TRUST… sickos.

1 Nethack. Took me 8 fricken years to complete it. Brilliant game. Mandos, you have great taste!

2 Myst/Riven/Myst exile. Beautiful puzzle games.

3 Diablo II. Another roguelike (what can I say, they’re a great style of game)

4 Age of Empires II

5 Civilization II

This. Forever.

Am I the only one who has fond memories of LEMMINGS? I love the noises they make…

Baulder’s Gate II.

Like forever. It’s the only game I dreamed about regularly.

Top 5 games I’ve spent way too many hours stuck in front of

 1. Tetris
 2. Warcraft
 3. Diablo and Diablo2
 4. Doom
 5. Everquest. Sometimes I’d stop playing and still be able to see the chat window in the lower half of my vision. Of course, sometimes I just didn’t stop playing.

I LOVE YOU…

Is that inappropriate? We should run away together!!

I started playing EQ again … its cool… It’s already got me staying up till 12-1am again. UH OH!!

ROFL. Noooo! I escaped the Evercrack. No more.

Evercrack = BADbadbadbadBAD!!!
Wow = Refer above
EvE Online = I’m sure I didn’t reeeeally play night and day for 3 years :open_mouth:

League of Legends is fun atm (reminds me, must go get 1st win of the day … . tata for now)

Yoshi Story, the real OG.

 1. Fallout
 2. Silent Hill 2
 3. Sam and Max Hit the Road
 4. SWAT 4
 5. Stalker: Clear Sky

I difficult time picking a top 5 so here are a few notes:

 • Fallout and Planescape: Torment tend to swap places every now and again but I never write them into the same list as having two CRPGs is cheating. Both have solid storys, but Torment’s writing and characters give it one over Fallout. Fallout just works better as a game. Fallout tends to win out because the setting and humour is so good.
 • Out of all the films, novels and games I have ever seen, read or played, only two have ever felt genuinly frightening. Silent Hill 2 is one of these two. It’s a bit of a cliche mentioning this as one of the best games ever but sometime cliches come about because they’re true.
 • I just really like Sam and Max. The games, comics, animated series, all of it.
 • I’m fan of the tactical shooter that unfortunatly died a few sequels ago. SWAT 4 was the best and last of the lot.
 • I like the Stalker series more than I should. The story is bullshit and all of the games are so buggy the can easily become unplayable after a while. But there’s something about the bleak setting and unforgivingly difficult gunfighting I can’t help but love.
