NZLARPS presents: the conceptual successor to the US classics “Buried Alive in a Pinto” and “Shot into Space in a Yugo”, a new blockbuster larp… to the Pole on a Massey-Ferguson!
This exclusive larp for four players will reenact Edmund Hilary’s famous 1957 polar expedition, asking the questions “how far would you go on a tractor?”, and “is ‘because its there’ really worth frostbite and having to eat your coffee frozen solid?” The players will travel from Scott Base to the South Pole on three Ferguson TE20 tractors. They will struggle with duty, ambition, a hostile and deadly environment, and possibly the terrifying forces of the Cthulhu Mythos in a journey of self-discovery across the endless white void at the bottom of the world.
Participants will be responsible for their own travel to and from Antarctica. Due to budgetary constraints they will also be responsible for their own catering, and will be expected to bring their own cold-weather gear. They will also be expected to adhere to the 1998 Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty, specifically Annex III which requires that waste, including sewage, be removed from the Antarctic Treaty area by the generator of such wastes. Take only photographs, leave nothing but footprints!
Preregistrations will be open from April 1, 2022. Costs have not yet been finalised, but antique tractors and foam-rubber penguins don’t come cheap! As usual, we will be using Eventbrite for ticketing.
