Tides of Change: Character Creation Day

Hey everyone,

I’m happy to announce for those of you who haven’t heard that on Saturday, the 3rd of September, there will be a character creation day for all people who are interested in playing in the upcoming werewolf live game.
That’s the weekend after Chimera

This event will be held in the library basement at the University of Auckland, from 10:00am until 5:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to work on packs, have characters ready to play, form connections with other players, or just talk about the game. I highly encourage everyone who is interested to show up, and hope to see you there

A big thanks to the America club (and Ben in particular) for allowing us to have this event.

This is just a friendly reminder that this event is happening this Saturday! We hope to see you there.

Having never been to the University, is the library/basement easy to find?

Where’s the nearest parking?

And what should we be bringing with us? Completed character sheet for approval? Draft? Nothing but our imagination and a smile? Bribes for the GMs?

I’ll be there- looking forward to finally getting a character built and planned out.

Alfred street runs from princess street to symond street through the middle of the campus (its buses only)…if you go down there you will see a theatre…turn around there is the library…

Yes, I’m working hard at work, on level 1 of the library…

I’m not sure what public parking is like during the day close to the library. I know it’s cheaper after 6pm… I think…

Sorry if this map is huge.

Princes St Carparking is expensive until 6pm, when it is free.

Best carpark is under the Owen G Glen Building on Grafton, which is $5 for the whole day. It is a short walk up the hill to the Library, on Alfred St, from there.

Russell alerted me to the existence of the werewolf/white wolf larp in Sept. I am thinking I am interested because I am now addicted to all things larp, however, I was wanting to know a bit more about it before I come along as getting to the character creation day will be a stretch and don’t want to come along if it is not my cup of proverbial heated beverages.

So…

when is the actual larp on?
Date, time?
Quantity of players?
Venue?

Also - what is involved in storyline - much combat or mainly RP or what? Do you run around the streets of Auckland?

And what is the costuming like - lupine or human?

Tanya

Larp time: 3 hour games monthly on a saturday (First game the 22nd of oct)
Number of players: 20-30 us usual for monthly games

Its an MET (abstract combat resolution) game so theres no “foam sword” combat.
Costuming is general modern human.
Venue will be vary based on month but we will endevor to keep it centralised.

Should we bring pre-printed character sheets? Will there be some there?

I’m going to be entering character sheets in a handy excel spreadsheet to make things easy. But if you want a hard copy, you may as well bring one anyway. We may have a few spares on hand

Some people may wish to bring USB sticks. That will allow us to give you a copy of said sheet, which will allow you to fiddle with things. All character sheets will be reviewed at our next meeting, so they’re unlikely to get final approval anyway.

People may also wish to bring pie and cake for me

On sep 17th there is a Mage: The Awakening game running, this is a monthly larp in a similar style to this one (i believe). Give Awkening a try and see what you think, although i love it - it is not for everyone! Much more about social class and finesse of larping, as opposed to smacking eachother to bits with foam swords.

Thanks a lot Helikaon

Much appreciated!
