I’d expect to lose 2 hours all up
I’d like to go (and live only a few kms from the cinema), but unfortunately the last bus my way leaves earlier than 11pm, so I probably won’t be able to make it. I think you should expect me when you see me
Im keen, count me in. how do we go about tickets?
Such a lousy way to ask for a ride… you know, there are friendly people here who drive.
I live on the shore, not really that close to Takapuna, but closer than most everyone else.

Or just walk.

Or just walk.[/quote]Actually, I wasn’t asking for a ride
And I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to be walking by myself after midnight back from Takapuna to my place. Its reasonably low risk, but I still wouldn’t want to take it.
It looks like I won’t be attending though, since I’ll probably be at Uni till late-ish working on assignments, and then going back on the Saturday to keep working on them.
Any one would think you’re afraid of your own shadow, just be wearing some good running shoes if you need to that or boots of ass kicking +5 and you’ll be fine. (coming from a guy that used to stroll through the middle of otahuhu at 3 am on his way home)
Although a bit of caution and a healthy regard for safety is a good thing when it comes to getting home late at night.
(coming from the fiancee of a guy who has taught several muggers a lesson at 3am in Penrose…)
Running shoes would definately be a better option than Dr Frankenfurter extra high heel platforms though.
Reminds my of a time when I was 17.
I had a part time job over Easter, working for a ‘dial-a-gift-basket’ shop. I dressed up as a giant rabbit and hopped around Milford handing out little Easter eggs with advertising for the shop…
I ran into these three big Black Power members sitting on motor bikes and as I was handing out eggs to some kids (and advertising to their mum) I overheard one of the gang members say “bro, we should mug the Easter bunny, nobody would have done that before…”
So I hopped over, patted him on the head, gave him a chocolate egg, and hopped off.
His friends were still teasing him as I rounded the corner.
So, so far it’s me, Tigger, my sister, Dave, Porl, Clare, Raoul and Anikka. Anyone else?
And people above, book your tickets because it would suck if they sell out. I’m ringing up tomorrow to find out if it is allocated seating. Do we want to do something before hand? Hang out? Something?
The Berkeley cinema website has instructions for how to book tickets:
(It says to ring them up on the phone no provided and book using their automated system)
it would probably be best if one person did this rather than all of us doing it seperately
I’m going. I’ve already got my ticket though, they’re selling pretty fast
I confirm what I said on first page, I’m going, I was promised a ride will be sorted for me
Do I need to book ticket myself or do we do a group booking?
I’m booking tomorrow for myself, Tigger, my sister, Dave and I can book one for you too Lucy. It’s $12 a ticket and I’m a poor student, so you’ll have to pay me back on the night
Wee, thank you! I’ll bring my $12 with me
Okay, I’ve booked five tickets (me, Tigger, Judit, Dave and Lucy).
Clare et al, are you guys still coming?
It’s really easy, you call up and you don’t even have to pay till the night. We just have to be there to collect tickets 20 minutes before the movie.
Now for the most important part. Who is dressing up? And in what?
i’m going to be lame and pass on the dressing up, on account of i just can’t be arsed
Me and Porl have booked tickets, so we are definately coming too.
Probably won’t be dressing up- while I’d love to I’d have to sew a costume, and all my sewing time is currently going towards re-enactment stuff for labour weekend.
