The Great Poltical Coreflute Harvest

The Greens will be taking down the coreflute billboards Friday night. All coreflute is coming to me, which means nzLARPS is going to get a healthy supply of coreflute !!

I need volunteers to help me take down the billboards and harvest the coreflute. I can pick up/drop off volunteers. I need 1 or 2 on Thursday night and the same number again on Friday night.

Let me know if you can help.

Cheers,

Mike

Edit: Just found out it’s only on Friday night

damn its a shame its not next week as I could have come up early.

I might not have a car (lending it to a friend for the weekend), can I still be of assistance?

I’m actually keen to have one or two of those billboards eh… would that be cool with you?

Apparently we have 230 large billboards around Auckland, so I suppose I could give you a couple

I’ll pick you up and drop you off, so you won’t need a car.

hoaly shizam - I wouldn’t mind one of those to make a shield or 2 with. I would be happy to lend a hand for nz larp crafting in the future :stuck_out_tongue:

Great, I’m in dude. Grab me from home if you can (I work next door now), and just txt me when you’re nearby.

How did this go?

Oh yeah, it was an EPIC FAILURE

I got a trailer and picked up Craig, then I rang the organiser to see what we should do next, and he said it was all done and dusted, and all the billboards were locked up so we couldn’t even go an get the coreflute. I wasn’t overly impressed and being left out of the loop.

So, I’m going to organise a mission to pull the billboards out of the storage and remove the coreflute and then take the coreflute to my place for storage. Not sure of the date yet, but this side of Xmas.

Turns out there about 75 billboards to deal with, and some are double sided and there are apparently only 100 large billboards (dunno why was told 230).

So, who’s interested in helping with this ? I reckon a team of about 6 would be good.

Yep. Although I can’t do weekend mornings.

All depends on the timing for me. If I’m free when you do it, I’m there.

Also timing, but keen.

I would be willing to help out here as well, assuming I could make it.

I’ve contacted the person who can give us access to the billboards. We can access them as follows:

When: 9am, Sunday December 7th

Where: St Lukes’ Church, cnr New North and St Lukes Roads, St Lukes (not far from St Lukes mall)

Duration: I reckon that a group of 6 people should be able to harvest the coreflute within 2 hours.

Happily, this is very close to where I live, which makes life easier for shuttling the coreflute to my place.

So, please let me know if can assist. If you want to make a shield, assisting in this project would be a very good way of acquiring the coreflute to do so…

I think I should be able to make it to help with that. Although if anyone else is gonna be passing through the CBD on the way there, I’d like to meet up with them so that I’m with someone who has a clue where to go (I know nothing about that part of town).

The harvest is happing this Sunday, and more helpers are needed.

Is anyone else able to help for a couple of hours on Sunday morning ?

I think I should be able to make it, so long as I can meet one of the other participants in the CBD, so I can follow them and actually get where I need to go.

I would love to be able to say yes but the magic gp is this weekend so I might be playing on sunday

Good luck tho!

I will be there to lend a hand

Here’s instructions for the absolute easiest way to get to the location:

  1. Catch a Western Line train from Britomart
  2. Get off at the Morningside station
  3. Walk down the platform in the same direction as the train is headed. At the end of the platform is an underpass that takes you to New North Road.
  4. Keep walking in the same direction down New North Road, staying on the same side. You’ll go past some shops and under the railway bridge.
  5. St Lukes Church is on the left at the big intersection (with traffic lights) that you can see when you get to the railway bridge.

Right, I think I can use those directions to get there. Although I may not make it at 9am, I may be a bit late. Hopefully I’d actually get there before everyone has gone again though…
