The Great Mordavian Stocktake & Rationalisation

NB: Cross-posted from Mordavia
The time has come to sort out The Gear.

We have cubic metres of all kinds of Mordavia assets, including costumes, armour, weapons and props. Like the swamp of Berium, we have allowed this morass to fester, threatening to engulf Ryan’s bungalow with an unstoppable pile fantasy-horror inspired paraphenalia.

You can do your bit !

Where:
Mike & Beccah’s - 26 Malvern Rd, Morningside
Date:
Saturday, 29th October
Time:
10am
Bring:
A health dose of irony, any stories you have collected from Naama & elsewhere, elbow grease. Some lunch money (we’ll order in some deitarily cognisant fastfood). Also bring any Mordavian gear you have (costumes, weapons etc).
The Plan:
We will clean, repair, sort, organise, classify, tabulate, data-capture and otherwise really get to know and understand our gear. I already have some Gear here at my place, but a mission will take place to obtain all Gear from Ryan’s in the morning.

We’ll also work out future gear making/reparing sessions and put these into our calendar. And I would like some input into the gear borrowing/usage protocols so our gear that is borrowed for LARPS games is returned clean and intact.

This will be a fun day, and an opportunity to participate in the evolution of the Mordavian organisation.

I have an exam that day, but in the morning so I’ll probably show up around 2 to help out and disengage the study part of my brain for a few hours.

Groovy, we’ll almost certainly still be going strong at 2pm. I’m sure we can txt you if, against all odds, we’ve actually got it all finished by then.

Julianne and I will be there.
I will bring my Camera so we can do the photo recording we talking about.

Ill be there if possible, but there shouldnt be any problems.

Would you like me to bring maybe my sewing machine? Dunno if i can come but if i do… should I bring my superhero outfit, equip with bobbins, spare needles and thread?

Hi Folks,

It’s your favourite documentary duo here again. We’ve been laying low for a wee while making our way through our footage and doing a few interviews.
We are dead keen to document the big move on Saturday - Mike and Ryan have both agreed so if it’s ok by you all we’ll be there. We will be as inobtrusive as possible and WILL NOT film anyone who does’nt want to be filmed.

See you on Saturday

Adam And Richard

lucyfur: Yes, please bring your sewing machine. I don’t envisage actually making anything new, because repairs and ID tag sewing will be the main focus on the day.

Anyone else with access to a sewing machine, please let me know if you can bring it. We can probably have 3 or 4 going at once.

Adam (Presidenté) & Steve Shipway This would be a good opportunity to sign up LARPS members. Is it OK if I collect money and make a list of members who are scraping in on the $5 special ?

Cya on Saturday.

Collect away. the more collections the better.

It’s looking like an increasingly busy day and there’s an increasing chance I won’t make it there. If I don’t, I hope it all goes well. If I do, I hope it all goes well.

Glad I could make it for some time before the end.

I think we did a great job of this, if I say so myself. Can’t wait to see the database in action too…!

Mike, have you already taken that other stuff to the dump? Is any of the carpet ok for use?

I’ll move this thread out of announcements now.

This is big, ladies and gentlemen.

So on behalf of the LARP Society, thank you ever so much for this very generous donation.

What this means is that LARPS now owns the gear, and can lend it out for any game going on. There are some amazing props and costume pieces in the loot, which begins the library of assets intended to help other people start their own LARP games. We’re talking about dozens of weapons, shields, tabbards, the golem, and some money to boot. It’s really an incredible and generous gift from Ryan to the society. We can’t thank him enough.

I implore everyone to join LARPS and make the most of this.

At the meeting, on Wednesday, I hope to receive a list of all the payments received and who has paid. Also, the location of the money 0- whether transferred to the LARPS account, or handed over on the day (cash/cheque), or promised to be electronically transferred the next day.
