The Baron's Blood Pudding

Baron Simon Ardhiem, famous for his massive moustache and love of blood pudding, is on the hunt for a new bride after the death of his wife last year. His sister, Lady Cecily Markbee, is hosting a dinner party tonight, the 10th of June 1857, to help him find her. Four of the most wealthy and beautiful young women of the ton have been invited, along with four gentlemen to help make up the dinner party’s numbers.
But there is one amongst the party who has more in mind than a pleasant evening wine and dine, one who has nothing in their mind but revenge. Hearts will be broken, relationships destroyed, and secrets, those deep, dark, bloody secrets that ooze pain will come to light, tonight over the Baron’s Blood Pudding.

Any idea how much the simplicity patterns cost to ship? Trying to work out if its cheaper to ship from America or buy the more expensive one in Aus and have my dad bring it over…

Cheers!

They have them in NZ - just go to any Spotlight or Fabric store. They should have some in stock or will be able to get them in for you.

Yep, I second this - Spotlight is great for patterns shopping, but there are other places that have them too. It’s good if you have a few patterns in mind and check to see if they have any of those at all, those Simplicity ones look awesome, you can probably use any of them, so I guess just turn up in store and ask.

Hoop skirt envy/fear of making.

What I can do If I have enough Ladies interested is On a Saturday or Sunday afternoon I can run a sewing bee to construct a full Victorian out fit, from bloomers to bonnet, and including the corset. You won’t need o have necessarily have sewn before, but it will help.

I already have these patterns:
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=6310
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=5749
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=5550
(All out Of Print now)

And will be buying these very soon:
simplicity.com/p-1793-costumes.aspx
simplicity.com/p-3538-mens-costumes.aspx
simplicity.com/p-1806-men-costumes.aspx
simplicity.com/p-1993-costumes.aspx
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=6921
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … rnid=18570
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=6574
sewing.patternreview.com/Patterns/7342
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=5749

And I also have these somewhere (i think they maybe at my parents house… >.> ):
kaboodle.com/reviews/butteri … tern-12-16
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … rnid=15920
sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin … ernid=5749

We could do a bulk order for corset boning and hoops for the skirts.

is anyone interested?

Zara

Umm… YES! Also keen to go in on the boning, though I already have a hoop skirt

YES!!!

Yes, I still need to finish butterick.mccall.com/search-page … submit.y=0

yep, sounds like a great idea, just choosing the right date … Late November may be quite full with Teonn preparations, so sooner might be better than later.

To do the full outfit it would have to run over several weekends, so you could pick and choose which ones you come to.

And that is The Baron’s Blood Pudding Full!

Thank you Ladies and Gent’s I am looking to get Character Blurbs out by next Monday, so you should have plenty of time to costume!

@Zara - I’d love it if you ran some workshops.
I’d also be keen to share in postage (or Spotlight shopping expeditions) if others wanted to get some patterns. I’d really like to get the Simplicity # 3727 (in blue plaid in the picture with layered sleeves: simplicity.com/p-1993) for size 10-12… 'though the 15 metres of fabic requirement is a little daunting (and that’s if not matching stripes or anything)!
And I know Prema and Mathilde bought hoop skirts via the internet - is that likely to be cheaper than making them from scratch?
Beth

From the chats with others I have been having I think several of us like that pattern Beth!

I have found it is cheaper to get the patterns (and easier to get the out of print ones) from pattern stores on Ebay - so perhaps we could do a group order through one of them

As for the hoop skirts, I have no idea! i haven’t cost them out yet.
