The Armageddon Project

Great stuff, everyone  We’re next working on getting a backstage forum created and everyone who has expressed an interest, in whatever capacity, will be added. The reason we’re making it a backstage forum is because I expect it to be reasonably busy, not because there will be anything secret.

Augur, thank you for the offer of Tangleball. We’ll hash out exactly what needs making and make a time to head over

This is list compiled from both this thread, and the previous one viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6068

If you are on this list and don’t want to be (i.e. you’ve changed your mind, or you’re no longer able to help) post below and I will remove you.
If you are NOT on this list and WANT to be, post below and I will add you.

It’s time to kick this into high gear, we only have six weeks. We need the whole community to support this effort.

i am not sure if I can get there or not, but if I can I will be there with costumes! XD

Ditto

I just had a thought. Because im new to larping, i understand what things people want to know when joining. I can give some ideas on what things i really needed help with and information i could and couldn’t find. Because i only knew one person (very much as an aquantiance) and i took the step myself to come without help of another person so i had to find out everything myself, I don’t know if this will help at all, But i though i would offer.

So I’ve put my hand up to GM one of the post-Armageddon Larps (at this stage Reunion), but I could really use a couple people to help.
Anybody interested? PM me or post here and let me know

Michelle

I am going to try to make it up to Auckland, trying to sort out accomodation. I now know when it is, but don’t know WHERE it is. Can someone tell me so that I can Google maps the location. I grew up in Auckland, but that was in the seventies and eighties, much has changed since then. :unamused:

That’d be a fantastic help, thank you Luisa! I’ve added you as a consulting newbie

Everyone who has expressed an interest should be able to see the backstage forum now. I’ve also added the various marketing officers and regional reps to the forum so they can contribute any information they think is relevant about their regions.

If you’d like to be added, post here, PM me or request to join the group

Hi there. Will be happy to lend the enthusiasm which I posess to the project. At present, may be unavailable Sunday. I also have a strong desire to be at the main stage Saturday noon, 4pm, and Sunday noon. Otherwise, I’m your man.

We need a few more people to help man the stand. We need one more person to donate 4 hours on Friday, and two people to each donate 4 hours on Sunday and Monday. Females appreciated, the stands are very male-heavy at the moment.

I’ll be around, not sure which day/days yet but I will definitely be there and will definitely man the stall some of those days.

Please let me know as soon as you are able. We have a roster and I’m trying to fill gaps in it. At this stage we need one more person for a half day on Friday, a half day on Sunday, and we need two people for a half day each in Monday. We don’t need more people for Saturday.

We’re halfway through Armageddon so I thought I’d give folks an update on how this is all going on the ground. Our stand is set up in the second hall on the corner, we have two walls. These two walls are covered with four massive photoboards, and four banners promoting Teonn and larping. We have a small table displaying several smaller photoboards (Teonn, Flight of the Hindenburg and Reunion) out the front, and laden with photoalbums, pamphlets on what larping is, and business cards.

Our advertising material points people at this new site:

Thank you to the wonderful people who have helped out at the stand over the last two days - it’s really draining work, but we’ve had some fantastic responses and met some great people. I have high hopes that they’ll sign up for our upcoming beginner games!

Michael has Google Analytics turned on on the site and he’ll sift through the data after it comes in at the end of the weekend to see how many people we attracted with our business cards and sales pitches!

Day #3 is now done and we talked to a looooooot of people - kids, parents, gamers, non-gamers, musicians and even politicians. The Green Party were on the campaign trail at Armageddon, they stopped for a photo with the larpers (and the larpers tried to talk Metiria into coming back to larp!)

(Photo nicked from the photostream of one of the Green supporters on Twitter, MaxDCoyle)

They weren’t the only ones - we were a good looking bunch so let us know if you see our familiar faces turn up on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or anywhere similar!

Cool, stand looks great!

OMG it’s the MIME!

It’s the very rare, Mister Mime!! If only I had my pokemon and a spare empty pokeball!

And some clear photos of the stand, courtesy of Dave Agnew.

Stand looks brilliant, great work guys
