I love being irish and getting my very own drinking day. This Saturday, in case you’re blind to the opportunity for a craic, is St Paddy’s! The current plan is to meet outside Borders around quarter to 12. At midday Aotea Square will fill with two very large groups of people (neither of which seem to have realized that they’ve planned their events for the same time, place and route!) and will march down Queen Street in the conglomerated St Patrick’s Anti-War rally (More Guiness! Less War!) as Irish musicians mingle with peaceniks to protest 26,000 more troops being sent into Iraq.

Then it’s off to join the celebrations at the Eden rugby clubs in Gribblehirst Park (off Sandringham Rd). THe Irish Association have booked it from 9.30am (mass) till 12.30am. Live music, irish dancing, bar and an Irish band, Druid, in the evening.
Then drunkenly stumble onto the Nieblungen afterlarp
Peace all.
