Has anyone used St Mathews Church for a larp? If so, could you message me please, I have some questions about a possible future thing…
Yes we did, for the Conclave Day Game (for Mordavia, I mean). A film crew wanted some footage and rented the place for us to play in. It’s very pretty. The clip is on the Mordavia website. I don’t know who you’d talk to about renting it again, though.
Yes we did, but it is expensive. For the TV3 some deal was done so no cost was charged, I think by TV3, not us.
I tried to arrange hire last year for a larp and it was something like $200.00 per hour.

It may not be a church but suggest you look at the Blue Stone Room, nice large stone function room - used for first a mordiva game and the first pirates game.
We may be able to arrange free hire for a larp.
When was the Bluestone used for a Mordavia game?
We’ve used the downstairs for an SCA event. I think it was about $500 for an evening but that was 10 years ago
I think they call it “The Crypt” and it’s basically a big feast hall with a stage area and a kitchen.
Adam fails his memory check! Mecca Stonehouse was used twice for Mordavia, but we paid. Bluestone was used first for Pirates, then for Ravenholme.
Derek, I think you’re thinking of the church on Symonds St which has the crypt under it, not St-Mattews-in-the-City.
No I think derek may be correct, while St Pauls (the symonds street one) hires theres out more, I think that st mathews has a “crypt” too.
