Time Lord … now that’s a good idea … and the perfect excuse to finally buy me a sonic screwdriver. 10th or 11th? Blue or Green? Gah … so many decisions …

Sonic? Who’d have sonic? I’m getting me a LASER screwdriver!

Laser stuff runs down batteries too fast.

Unless it’s linked to the beginning of the universe by a temporal wormhole, in which case you don’t need to worry about batteries ever again! Although you might have a difficult time modulating the output.

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow into the power converter would probably help with that problem…

Or maybe a baryon sweep? Polaron accumulation is known to cause battery issues in a wide range of positronic devices …

Bayron Sweep’s can be notoriously unreliable if you’re inverting the flow due to the build up of Hoen Particles. But I’m not entirely sure…

I blame Tachyons. And Quantum.

I blame negatively charged malificent ether.

Hmmm, yes … my Spatio-Temporal Self-Rotating Retrocomputed Analytical Array suffered from several Aetheric Discharges of the most Severe nature some months back, during that most Memorable of storms in June. Negatively charged, you say? Yes, I suppose that would explain a few things …

You can’t blame quantum! Quantum’s an adjective!

Verb, Adjective, infinite state of inverted transdimensional flux, Quantum is still blamable.

Nuh-uh … haven’t you ever visited Ankh-Morpork? Quantum is clearly a noun. After all, we all know that the sky is blue because of Quantum. At least, that’s what the kindly old chap in the funny hat said when I asked …

Guys, this is is only very tangentally related to the topic of the flagship, so I’ve split it off (and will get it moved to Chit Chat) As you were.

It’s like blaming loud, or blaming fast. Doesn’t make sense!

That’s true.

Everyone knows quiet and slow are to blame.

It’s a quote (and concept) from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series (hence the subtle reference to Ankh-Morpork, in case you hadn’t placed the quote but were in fact familiar with the source material), in which certain of the denizens would be quite happy to tell you that rock music was evil because of Loud. Anyhow, on with the (hopefully slightly less) obscure references …
