Smithsonian Expedition Discussion (Public)

Now I have joined the Expedition as a provider of printing services, I am thinking of producing a one-page Expedition Bulletin for the scientists to publish (short) notes on their discoveries, organised by departments or fields of knowledge (geology, botany, zoology, astronomy, rift studies etc).

I was thinking of something like this as a header design:

Would people be interested in contributing, and would they want a “pre-game” issue with their discoveries from last session?

Oh no! How will you be an impartial journalist if you’re part of a faction? :open_mouth:

I’ll read anything you produce, especially if I can put a stack of it on the side of the bar for people to find. It’ll help me stay informed without leaving my cubbyhole as well so wins all round.

C19th journalists were typically partisans (there is a reason why so many early American newspapers are named things like the Podunk County Republican or Dipshit Town Democrat). Concepts like objective reporting had only just been introduced. That said, just because I’m printing their internal journal and hanging out with them to get interesting stories doesn’t mean the Riftside Review is going to turn into a Smithsonian propaganda sheet. Its not like they’re running candidates in an election, after all.

Since I’ll be in-game all weekend this time, I can make sure to have the casino stocked with some pre-game editions of the Review this time. But also, I can print other things. Last time, I did a small collection of Poe stories. So, any requests?
