Skill Sets: It's like Craigslist, for the Hanover Camp!

Considering the shift in tone between the last session and this one, especially with the drastically different world we’re occupying, in many ways it might be important to make the camp as self-sufficient as possible. This includes the obvious things, like food, medicine and weaponry, but also more subtle tasks, like sewing, glassmaking and carpentry.
In case a character needs something in a future session (or between sessions, for that matter), does your character have any skills that other characters may find useful? Any skills you think would be useful to have, but you don’t know if anyone has them? Post here.

For example: if Zek’s at the camp when you need him, he’ll be able to bless water and command paperwork. He knows the Isle of Skye like the back of his hand by now, especially the camp surroundings, and having traveled solo for a few years knows all about tracking and voyaging. For the right price, he knows a merchant that can get you art supplies and/or some rare books. He speaks Latin, Gaelic and English fluently, and can translate between these languages, with a smattering of Japanese and Welsh at his disposal too. He has some knowledge of botany, especially as far as emergency medicine goes.

Someone we don’t seem to have at the camp currently is a gunsmith. If you’ve got hand-to-hand weapons, there’s the NPC blacksmith, but if you’ve got a gun, you’d better hope it doesn’t fall apart on you. Is there anyone with that skill?
EDIT: At least two, it turns out.

Yes, Jasper knows all about guns.

So does Jack.

Assuming anyone trusts Esther enough to do anything, she’s a trained nurse and more or less grew up within the Church of Van Helsing, so she knows how to exorcise demons, create holy water, ward, and she’s got her massive demonology tome that can be used to look up a variety of information about demonological subjects. She speaks fluent Latin and also some Spanish and French. She also knows how to knit and crochet and to sew a bit.

Dahlia a trained doctor, surgeon and chemist, so she can be rather useful in that area.
Plus Thor and her are very experienced in living in harsh winter conditions, so they can offer their knowledge on that matter as the camp’s few token Scandanavian’s.
Also Dahlia managed to survive in the Greenland winter on her own with almost no food or warmth, so she knows a thing or two about extreme survival with her tale…even if you won’t want to hear it.
Thor and her speak fluent Danish, English and Swedish. She’s not too sure what Loki speaks exactly, because Loki doesn’t speak… but he understands English!
Dahlia knows Latin too, for scholarly purposes.

With us we also bring other new mercenaries whose skills I am not quite sure of yet but I believe one may be helpful with Demonology.

While the group is away, a letter asking to scout for supplies is more than welcome and I am sure Dahlia will make sure the mercenaries listen

Jane shows up every now and then.
She’s a decent engineer (particularly with velocipedes) and isn’t inventive, so the odds are good you’ll get your machine back in a condition you actually understand. She can heal, but doesn’t carry a medicine kit unless she’s on an assignment to somewhere she considers dangerous… which means yes, she has it when she’s on Skye. She also can deliver your mail, now I know that seems obvious, but when the Post Lady in charge of your mail likes you the Royal Mail’s already uncanny ability to find anyone quickly suddenly becomes almost supernatural, so it shouldn’t be discounted.

#74 will be popping in and out of Hanover camp, but will remain on Skye indefinitely.

She’s a competent engineer; she can fix weapons, disarm booby traps, create booby traps for lurking cultists, fix mechanical limbs, and do some basic chemistry, like creating gas grenades. She has a basic knowledge of anatomy, and can dismantle cyborgs.

Also a fair to middling fighter (beggars can’t be choosers, now that the army has gone) she can work as a bodyguard or accompany people to far flung hamlets. She’s a decent tracker, too. She needs less food and less sleep than normal humans, so is good for doing things like guard duty and perimeter checks.

As the only HEITC member left on Skye (yes, I know) she’s also your best shot at acquiring more specialist goods legally. She’s also got a knack for writing complicated legal sounding documents, and has a pretty through knowledge of both the Penal Code and Official Company Policy.

She can also knit, which she finds surprising. Also becoming fond of fishing, hunting rabbits, and gardening, which she’s learning from the locals.

I’ll keep this short, but if you need any of these skills with particular proficiency, Jasper has them:

Guns: Smithing, maintenance, ammo re-loading, shooting things.
Tracking/Hunting: Includes demons.
Melee: Yes.
Pilot: Landcraft and aircraft.
Building/carpentry/woodworking
Engineering/jury-rigging.

Elise, with her HEITC membership is also available (via post) to send through specialty goods.
She’s developing strong linguistic and negotiation skills… if you ever need someone to talk you out of a sticky situation, Elise is willing to help

Since leaving Skye, she has also picked up medical skills. She’ll be ready to lend a hand after battles.

After? Dahlia laughs at that
