Short film shoot

Just passing on a request from someone on one of my film-related mailing lists. I don’t know the guy personally, but this might be of interest to some of you. Larp isn’t just about hitting each other with foam swords, it’s also an acting thing!

"Im making a short film and require some keen actors for it, it will be shot end of January early February.
This is a low budget film so can’t pay anyone but can feed you all.
I need three female actors, ages 18-25. One female actor who is older 30-40 & 1 male actor 30-40 doesn’t need to be this age since we an age you with some make up but it helps.
The scene required is pretty technical so patience would be really appreaciated because some of the rigs will take a bit of time to rig up on the day.
The film is about a girl who loses her friends in a car accident and her journey to try regain herself from the incident.
If your interested please message me back. A photo would be awesome.
I have some of the crew already but anyone interested in taking part please email me.

My email is

Wish you all a merry christmas and happy new year!

Kind Regards

While we’re at it…

Inspired in part by the latest cover of Immersion, a few of us are making a photographic novel over the summer. In Kelp we follow codeine-addicted Kosti (Vanya Essin) through Auckland City as he meets a raft of bizarre people, attempts to repair relations with his hooker-girlfriend Trixie (Moo Michaux) and deals with the hauntings of a violent personal demon (Brian Watson).

Let us know if you look interesting, and/or can provide (or know of) an interesting looking place, and/or reckon you could interact with this story somehow good.

Demo scene:

Kosti’s girlfriend comes home early and decides to have her wicked way with him. She’s a hooker, and totally over sex, so usually doesn’t put out for him. This turn of luck pleases Kosti immensely. She’s doing a bit of a striptease but she can’t get her leg out of her jeans and falls over on the bed. He rocks up on one elbow and says “You do this six times a day and you still can’t get it right!”

Reaction sequence in images below.

What’s with the huge hand in the second pic? Using an odd lens, or something?

Yep! The whole thing is shot through 10-22mm glass (but with a crop factor of 1.6). This prevents the world from doing something unwanted like looking normal, and increases the amount you can “fall in to” each pic.

wow is this what you guys where talking about at mikes party? This is really good.

thats fantasic, idd be keen to join in, if you need a chubby white blonde girl teen character, or a elderly black man, i’m totally adaptable.
